Heat is not blowing out of my 2000 dodge durango. I hear a vacuum sound like it wants to work when I turn the A/C to heat but nothing blows through.

I was about to put my vehicle into park when I heard a sound like something dropped or something from the passenger side dash board and my heat went out. A week later I happen to be messing around with the fan speed and the heat kicked back on but was inconsistent for a week or two and than it went out all together. I had all my fuses checked and they were all good. Any idea what this may be? I'm thinking the blower motor, but not sure. If it is the blower motor any idea where it is located on a 2000 dodge durango 5.9L 4WD

I would have to say the resistor also. Cheap part and the labor is free when you do it yourself. It should be located behind your glovebox.

SOURCE: Rear heat not blowing on 05 grand Caravan

If you have the heater control up front on the floor or on defrost you should check that the heat is not blowing from under the d/p seats. If you move the heater control to dash you should have it coming out the top vents.

You could be having a coolant problem and need to check that first, If coolant level is normal you might have a thermostat going out. Both will cause your heat not to warm up at normal speed. If you need any thing let me know.

SOURCE: 2003 Dodge durango sport all four power windows not working

I know its not what anyone would want to here but sounds like a short. Best thing to do is first wiggle your key switch when the vehicle in in the on position then at the same time try to check to see if locks or windows are working. Then do the same in while the rig is running. If that dont work your ignition is fine and you need to take off door panels and check and wiggle all conections on window motors and lock motors and look for melted or burt wire or some that might have got hot. If all is good there you need to go to the back of the fuse box were the fuses to those items plug in and check there. As far as the service engine light goes either take it to the nearest Schucks or AutoZone and they will check it for free if not cycle the key on and off 3 times and on the 3rd time leave it in the on position look at your odometer light and it will flash a code remember that code and type Dodge then the code on yahoo search and it should tell you why your light is on Hintz whay sensor is bad. Hope this helps.

No heat in dodge durango 2000

First solution--check to make sure radiator is full of antifreeze. If not, top up to 1 inch below the top--then run engine 10 minutes--should be heating if antifreeze level was down a quart or more. Second solution--drive car 5 minutes--find open highway--dry road--floor the gas--if engine thermostat is sticking --this MAY blow it open. If there is now heat--the problem is a sticking thermostat. Thirdly, if no solution-- there is a possible plugged heater core--take to technician for testing. (This is under dashboard & extreme work needed to remove.)

Heat IS blowing out on drivers side, BUT it wont get hot ?
As long as you have heat, but not on passenger side, I would say your diverter is door is not operating, may be vacuum , or electrical, check under dash make sure no vacuum lines are leaking.

No rear heat

The rear vent system has a separate heater core/blower system. heater core could be plugged up or the coolant lines going to rear heater core are plugged. could also be low coolant/faulty water pump not producing enough pressure, or air in the cooling system which will need to be bled if so.

Heater blows a little heat

you need to replace the thermostat.... quick fix for now is to put a peice of cardboard or similar in front of the radiator to stop airflow.
