How do I get to the electronic flasher - for the turn signals - to replace it?

I have the part and I can't figure out how to get to the right "area" to replace the flasher. Someone told me it's up on top of the steering column. I have taken off the bottom piece of the dash board below the steering column and I can't see where the part is located. Can anyone tell me please?

I have the part and I know about where it is BUT I don't know specifically where it is. I've taken the lower dashboard panel off, looked where I was told it would be and still can't locate the old flasher so I can replace it with the new one.

Your local auto parts store should have it, and it is generally located under the dash on the driver's side.

I would move the seat back and get your head down by the brake pedal and look up. You should see it mounted near the steering column with wires coming from the harness. Try to remember where you heard the clicking before the flasher went bad.

I have replaced the flasher relay on my 2004 GMC Sierra but the hazard and signals still do nt work

Looking at the schematic diagram for the system(s), the flasher module is the first and only component common to the turn signals and hazard flashers, Unless the replacement module is bad, then there are only two possibilities: Both the Left and Right Turn Fuses in the left instrument panel fuse block are blown, or you have a ground problem from the flasher module.

1994 Chevy C1500 truck. No rear brake lights

Most likely this is a brake light switch issue. Replace switch.

If your emergency flashers don't work, all flasher bulbs are fine, but flashing too fast, then check and replace Hazard light switch.

Need to replace left turn signal flasher

This is weird! It seems to me that the left turn signal is getting 12v from somewhere at all times.I don't think the flasher is the problem(most GM systems use a single flasher for left and right)You probably have a crossed wire somewhere(or an add on accessory was connected to the left signal wire, allowing 12 volts to bleed through to the circuit)

I have a 1995 chevy cavalier and the turn signals just stay on and don't blink. I have changed the flasher and the multi function switch and still no luck

First, is it doing it on BOTH isdes or just on one side? Example: turn signnals flash OK when turning left, but only come on and stay on when turning right. If it is doing this, then you most likely have either a blown bulb or a bad bulb socket on the side that is not flashing. You need to check both the FRONT and REAR bulbs to make sure they are all functioning properly.
If it is doing it on BOTH sides, then you either have a bad flasher, or at least 2 bulbs burned out (one or more on each side).

Are you sure you replaced the correct flasher? The flasher for the HAZZARD lights is plugged into the convinience center under the left side of the dash. If this is the flasher you replaced, it is the wrong one.
The turn signal flasher is mounted to the driver's knee bolster bar near the steering column. It is held to the bar with a clip. (see diagram)

Turn signals don't work

For 3 bucks or so, I'd do what bunnydawg suggests & look for the signal flasher & replace it, or try 4 way flasher in signal flasher spot & it will tell you.
