I've solved all the issues related to my check engine light on my 1996 nissan maxima. Replaced knock sensor, O2 sensor, tune up etc. Now I can't clear the check engine light. The codes have been cleared.
The best way is to use a scan tool to clear the codes, that will turn off the light, also disconnecting the battery over night may work, but no completely sure about that, it varies from year to year.
The engine heat indications is intermitant.
There is a silver box underneath the center console, just to the right of the gas pedal.
Pull off the plastic cover (it has two plastic fasteners. It will go back on).
Peel back the plastic film covering the screw.
Put the key in and turn the ignition switch on, but do not strt the car (all the warning indicator lights should go on).
Turn the screw all the way clockwise for two or three seconds and turn turn it back. Repeat just to be sure.
Turn the key off. When you turn the key back on the Check Engine light should be off.
Replace the plastic film over the screw and replace the plastic panel.

My 1996 Oldsmobile 88 is running perfectly fine but has given a code of P0107 from my check engine light coming on recently. I was told that is the map sensor but if that part was bad my car would be running bad and my gas mileage would be bad too. I have none of those issues. Any idea what the issue is?
