Maybe this will help Peter. I had to capture it in 2 pics because of screen size. The first one is the top half. The 2nd is the bottom with a bunch of the top included as a repeat.

I have seen Belive it or not Oxygen sensors cause this, if the sensor is pegged rich or lean on that bank it will make the fuel trim to rich or to lean and then the engine will misfire, check the wires to the oxygen sensors and make sure that they are not broken or rubbed through... there is a spot on the passenger side right where the wiring harness crosses the frame that i have seen them rub on and brake the wires.... if the wires are ok try and disconnect the oxygen sensors one at a time on the passenger side and see if the miss goes away..... if not i have seen one other truck where the intake manifold gasket on the passenger side had blown out and was causing a vacuum leak between cylinders and causing a missfire hope this helps some...

What causes my 2002 avalanche to die after it runs for a few seconds

Loss of fuel pressure, loss of spark is likely. What you need to do is have the fault codes in the memory of the engine control computer. You will need an OBD2 fault code reader, it hooks to the diagnostic link port under the dash in front of the driver.

How do you know if your blower moter is bad?

Pull the plug and run a hot and ground wire to the blower. If it comes on, replace the resistor, right behind the blower. Doesn't matter which way you hook the wires.

2002 Chevy Avalanche. Truck will not

Do a bench test on the starter. Remove starter, hook up a ground cable to starter, and positive to two prongs on starter and it should spin. You can do this in vechile too but not suggested due to risk of injury. If it doesn't spin, probally a solenoid or the starter it self. Unlikely but possible.
