2006 Dodge Stratus 1.4l Harsh shudder from first to second gear. No codes, can do a quick learn and problem goes away for a couple of miles then comes back. New filter and flush didn't help, my best guess is internal failure and ned a new Trans. Second opinion?

A better solution is to have a good trans shop diagnose the problem and estimate what its going to need to fix it. fluid flushes never fix problems. its done as maintenence

Tip: The max point reward for answering a question is 15.
It's the Pressure Control Solenoid and if you get that code erased it should shift again.
At a stand still it reduces pressure you don't have to replace it just erase the code.
You may see a drop little in mpg

SORRY TO SAY BUT WHEN ONE SENSOR GOES BAD 90% OF THE TIME BOTH GO BAD AT THE SAME TIME. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE CRANK SENSOR .WITCH IS ABOUT 80 BUCKS AT THE LOCAL AUTO STORE SUCH AS ADVANCED AUTO OR AUTO ZONE . BOTH CAM SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE STRATUS. GOOD LUCK. KENNY
Pull the trans dip stick and smell it. Does it smell burnt? Your tranny might have gone out. I had an Avenger that the tranny went out at about 60,000.
***** is correct adn yoru issues are not a quick fix.. some sensor is acting up and /or computer is being told to do something .....get full scope done and dig towards cause that way
