When you put your jeep into reverse you will see the red lights. These will still work even when is says service parking assist system needs service. The problem is in your transmission control unit. This is a common problem in the Grand Cherokees. You will have two options here. You can take it to your Jeep dealership and ask them to flash the TCU. This may or may not work. The other option is they will have to replace the TCU. They run about $600.00. Hopefully if they flash the TCU it will work again. Good luck

I have a Jeep 2006 Grand Cherokee. The Perform

There is no way for you or me to tell. In order to determine what service it needs you should go to the dealer and they will perform a diagnostics test. I think it is around $95. It could be something simple as a fuse or reset needed. It could possibly be under warranty and not cost you anything but the $95.
I hope this helps

The rear parking sensor fuse is out, do you know location of fuse? 2006 jeep grand cherokee 5.7

The sensors are behind the rear bumper fascia, not sure about the fuse, the fuse box is under the dash left of the steering wheel, trying to sort through service manual now, you can grab one from promanuals.net for around 20 bucks though. Has complete component locations, over 7000 pages.
