Your automatic gearbox is going in "limp home mode". You need to check first the oil level. Change oil if necessary.

If the problem still occurs you shoud access the Transmission Control Module (TCM) using diagnostic equipment connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) of the car. Then you will be full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you can replace bad pieces & reset the TCM electronic unit.

You may have the clock and radio power leads reversed. Clock needs to be on a line that is hot with key on or off...radio goes to a lead that is only hot with key on.Same goes for lead for power antenna...don't need power there unless car is on. Don't forget...I'm not there so I can only make an educated guess.
Good Luck

Get the transmission scanned at the dealership. If it has incorrect gear ratio code stored, it needs a transmission. Only the torque convertor or valve body can be replaced for any repairs at the dealership, so it needs to be diagnosed correctly. Any authorized ZF transmission repair shop can also repair them, more than the Audi dealerships can, so thats another alternative.

Change the transmission fluid ant if that doesn't work then the transmission needs rebuilt or replaced. If you get on craigslist someone might be selling a transmission for cheap or check the salvage yards.

Audi A4 B7 tiptronic gearbox driving in park mode

It is not recommended to drive an Audi A4 B7 with a tiptronic gearbox in park mode. The park mode is intended to be used when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is turned off. When the vehicle is in park, the transmission is mechanically locked and the wheels are prevented from turning. If you attempt to drive the vehicle while it is in park mode, it may cause damage to the transmission and other drivetrain components. It is important to ensure that the gear selector is in the appropriate gear for the vehicle's speed and driving conditions before attempting to drive. If you are experiencing problems with the gearbox or are having difficulty shifting gears, it is recommended that you consult a professional mechanic for assistance.

No power accelerating uphill but ok on level and downhill cruising.

Probably the catalytic converter. When the cat starts to go bad that`s what normally happens, do you notice an odd smell from the exhaust?

1998 Chevrolet C3500 dies randomly when driving down the road - uphill, downhill or flat surfaces. Typically doesn't happen when it's cold. Sometimes it starts back up and sometimes it doesn&#

my younger brothers' truck did the same thing and there was a relay up under the dashboard that would get hot and shut of(kind of a circuit breaker unit) most of the operating systems will flash at you when only battery voltage is available which explains the lights coming on..these newer trucks also have a performance chip in the system that will act up when it gets warm also..replace this and you may be ok..let me know what happens also.. good luck.

Multi-Gear Grind

I would suspect low fluid pressure, possibly due to a accumulator sticking. This can easy be tested by measuring the line pressure at the transaxle's external test port and performing a road test under the conditions mentioned.
Most transmission shops will test this for a reasonable fee.
Good luck.

Cruise control will not maitain the speed it is set on. going up a hill it gets slower and going down a hill it gets faster

My experience is that cruise control works on level roads, uphill you have to control speed yourself same for downhill. Exception is very powerful cars. Did it maintain speeds before? (uphill + downhill)

1999 AUDI A6 avant 2.8L quattro. Car vibrates

This is a manual transmission? If so the clutch probably needs to be replaced. When you say "VIOLENTLY" what is going on, what is the road speed, what are the RPMs at? The more specific information the better. And this problem ONLY occurs between gear changes, right? The other times, everything is normal?

RPM's

OK is around 2000 rpm cruising at 60mph (slightly more uphill) You should be at about 1700 going slower in high gear around town.
What you don't want to see is a "flair" when shifting, or rpm above 2500 at cruising speed except uphill. There are many things that influence rpm while driving...road conditions, uphill, downhill, tire size etc. but these numbers are a good "ballpark" reference. Your own experience with your car is the best baseline. If rpm is different than what you have gotten used to as "normal" you should have it checked out.

Today suddenly my 4runner 98 V6 started to rattle in a slow gear and when going uphill the car had a sulfur smell but only when pushing it uphill the engine light came on but turned off after 10 minutes...

Take it into your mechanic ASAP before you throw a rod and destroy your engine, check oil level also...DO NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE or you may be looking for another car soon.
