My engine idles but wont rev up, we replaced fuel pump as car would not start. now when we step on the gas peddle the engine starts to rev up and then bogs right down.

If you have a hih miles truck,it is very possoble you have aclogged cat.Have a muffler shop test pressure in front and behind by drilling small holes,checkin w/gauge,then welding back.This should be free if you replace the cat.
that sounds like a fuel delivery problem. either the filter is clogged or the pump is not delivering the right pressure. i assume you have no check engine light. this would not set one but other problems like sensors would. being 11 yrs old i would not be surprised if the fuel pump was worn out. good luck
most likely a fuel pump issue. spray some break clean in the intake ande see if you can rev it up as your spraying, If you can you havea weak fuel pump
Check the fuel pump pressure using a fuel pump pressure guage. It would not necessarily be unheard of to have a new, but bad, fuel pump. No or low pressure, then take the pump back and get another one.
its the fuel pump, i have 2001 GMC yukon and thats what it did, it would start an run, idle just fine, but put it on ther computer to test it, it showed lean on both banks,meaning that the fuel pump was going out, was loosing pressure, i got a pump for 256.00 had a frind help me change it, it runs just fine,,
