P0171 is system too lean bank 1, P0174 is too lean bank 2, and 302 is misfire bank 1. Look for vacuum leaks. If you don't find them, put a vacuum gage on it can check. The P0171 is almost always a vacuum leak. If not other possibilities are front O2 sensor is too old and should be replaced (if mileage is greater than 100k then replace). Try injector cleaner. Misfires are usually bad spark plugs, but could possibly be caused by insufficient fuel. I've never had a car of mine in bad enough shape to have that error.

This is for my own solution, but it should be helpful. The Taurus has a PCV that is well hidden below the intake manifold and the hose to it dry rots if the valve isn't replaced in a timely manner. The is the likely source of vacuum leak for older Fords.

I have a 96 ford taurus lx station wagon. I had 2 codes pop up p0171 and p0174 i found a vacuum leak with the pcv hose and replaced it im trying to break loose my O2 sensors to clean them and also change...

oxygen sensors can't be cleaned. They're porous. If they're silled with soot, you have to replace them. Plus, O2 sensors don't caused lean codes, they only report them. Stop looking at the oxygen sensors and look for a vacuum leak, low fuel pressure or clogged fuel injectors.

P0302 is cyl #2 misfire and the other 2 are lean or rich codes because of the misfire repair code P0302 first and the other 2 codes will most likley clear up.
