As with all vehicles it seems the first part that they build around is the heater core. It is under the dash above the floor housed in a black plastic sealed box. Sealed with goop. Locate that box and start removing everything around it that is peventing taking the cover off. Of course disconnect the heater hoses under the hood a thefirewall.

Warning it is never as easy as it sounds.

SOURCE: Heater hose, 95 Astro

SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE HEATER CORE IS PLUGGED. TRY BACK FLUSHING IT AGAIN. IF YOU STILL GET NO FLOW IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY PLUGGED AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE TUBES ARE VERY SMALL AND PLUG EASILY WITH RUST.

SOURCE: need instructions for replacing heater core on 2003 Chevy S-10

The heater core may be behind the dashboard, passenger side. If you have never taken one out before,it may be best to take the truck to a shop.

Chevy astro van heater blowes only cold air

the problem is probably the heater core, it can become clogged with dribris. this stops heat from the engine getting to it and then no heat.
