It maybe a bad water pump! if a water pump go bad it will leak out the hole on bottom of pump, called the seep hole. i just had a bad pump on my 2000 malibu 3.1, and it leaked all over my belt. good-luck and have a good day !

Car is losing antifreeze and overheating instantly..is the water pump operated by the timing belt?

the water pump is NOT powered by the timing belt. Can you tell where the antifreeze is leaking from?

Overheated yesterday put antifreeze in bc it was almost empty did fine now its overheated again

Well Shelly the antifreeze is exiting the cooling system through a leak somewhere. Pouring more antifreeze in is not going to fix the leak. Often the leak is external to the engine and you can see a big puddle form on the ground where the car sits, common examples are burst hoses, leaking radiator, and a leaking heater core can create a wet mess on the passenger side floor. Other leaks such as bad gaskets and cracks in the head and block can cause the antifreeze to leak into the cylinders and lubrication system. First you must find out where the antifreeze is being lost, then figure out if the repair is worth it.

Anti freeze all over the place

it could be antifreeze that was on the frame after changing the radiator the best way to tell is run car through a car that has the bottom wash or in a self wash and on... rinse... spray the area around radiator ...then check again later for antifreeze on ground

1998 Neon leaking antifreeze

There could be a leak in the radiator or the water pump. Or the overflow coolant bottle but that normally won't drain all of the coolant. Fill up the radiator when the car is cold and start the car and keep an eye on it to see where the leak is coming from.
