My 1998 deville battery drains over night. Checked alternator,and stater, and any lights and mechanic said something about a motor mount busted. The belt by the engine is shredding slowly and i do not know what that belt is called to replace it. i think it may be the pulley being eaten. Please help me.

I had same problem and turned out my alternator plug kept falling out. ground was good but the plug with the clips was bent and kept falling out. had to make sure it was fixed by someone who knew what they were doing and had to take it to the dealer. charged me $75 to rewire anew plug on, took them one hour. have your battery and alternator tested at local Autozone or AAP

have the alternator checked it could test good and still be bad but it can also drain the battery 9 times out of 10 its the alternator thats draining the battery

A 12V battery drain, doesn't necessarily mean a bulb is on. There could be 17,842 other reasons such as a sticking seat switch, blower motor staying on, I could go on. Need to have it tested for that,and identify the circuit with the drain on it. Then beginto search and see what is the cause. Hope this helps

If there is only high speed fan, then replace the resistor assembly in the heater plenum. If there is no fan at all, then check the ground to the blower- the wire fails down in the fender well. Just run a new ground from a convenient spot to the motor's plug harness. Or it could just be a bad blower motor.
