What does it mean when the oil light flashes on my 2006 sebring?

Take the car to a local Autozone and have the Alternator tested, it is free. Also when the "Battery" light comes on it doesn't mean there is a problem with the battery persay it means the battery is not getting charged up while you drive.

if the starter relay is clicking that means the starter is bad .

May be wanting an oil change, or could mean low oil pressure or low on oil (need oil added).

Recommendation... Do Not purchase an 02 chrysler sebring! While it is a cute car and looks nice, they have consistently been rated as one of the worst vehicles based on expense of shop repairs, and also rated one of the worst vehicles for amount of time spent in shops. The oil light flashing is a sign that the car should not be driven due to not enough oil in the vehicle, any owner who overlooks that light, especially when trying to sell it, has obviously not taken very good care of it, therefor another reason.. NOT to by a chrysler sebring.

ATTEMPT TO START ENGINE.TURN OFF IGNITION. WITH OUT STARTING ENGINE.TURN IGNITION ON OFF ON OFF AND WITHIN 5 SECONDS RECORD 2 DIGIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES.DISPLAYED BY FLASHING MIL LIGHT.YOUR MIL FLASHES WILL BE YOUR CODE LIKE THE MIL LIGHT FLASHES 5 TIMES THEN PAUSE FLASHES 3 TIMES THAT CODE 53 THAT YOUR CODE.IT LIKE MORSE CODE.WHEN DONE TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH.GO TO AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO GET HAYNES COMPUTER CODE BOOK. TO GET CODE MEANING OR WHAT SENSOR GONE BAD.HOPE THIS CAN BE SOME HELP.

It means they didn't reset the oil change light. It means it's 17 miles past due and counting.
To reset, hold down the reset button for about ten seconds until everything in the display starts flashing.
Then while it's still flashing, hold down the reset button again for ten more seconds until the oil life says 100%.

Then, your all done. :)

normally when you have this problem it is the oil sending unit is sticking and it is normally located near the oil filter

Thank you folks, but my problem is already fix it - I'll change the engine oil like in

the A program from my Chrysler owner manual .

This does it mean at max. 6 months or max 7500 miles ...
