I have a 2000 saturn sl1, and i seem to be putting coolant in my car at least 2 times a week. It also overheats and when it does, it comes out of the top of the part that hold the coolant. Could this be my water pump, thermostat, or simply a leak in the coolant holder

If it is coming out of the top of the radiator, you are getting back pressure. First, make sure there are not puddles under the engine where the water pump is at. If so, you will need to replace the water pump and gasket; as well as the thermostat. It sounds as though the thermostat is stuck closed - replace it (if no leaks from water pump) and see if this fixes the issue.
Also, start the car (radiator full) and let run to operating temperature. Feel the top radiator hose - if it is not hot, but the engine is, then the thermostat IS stuck closed. Be sure to ask for a thermostat housing gasket when purchasing the thermostat, as they do not always come together.

The car might have already ran out of the coolant chemical.Freeze On chemical in the A/C system last like only five years of the car life.If u used it like an hour or more for driving every day with the air conditioner on all the times.Or the car might have leakages in the wiring A/C air conditioner connections holes to the system some where in the A/C output. This problem must take to the A/C Tech. for adviced, repair or might have to refill for new coolant Freeze On chemical for the car air condition system.

2000 saturn sl1 - No power to car with key in or out. Put jumper cables on and not even the interior light came on. Fusible link maybe?

First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.

Car Wont Start Sometimes, happened 3 times in the last... 3 months last two times less than a two weeks of each other

Possibly a Coolant Temp. sensor unless it has been replaced recently?? Also check the connector with the yellow & black wire.It will be the lower of the 2 coolant sensors. The ODO Is mechanical & can only be serviced by replacing the complete guage cluster.Hope this helps

Saturn 2000 SL1 - 4 cylinder - won't start - we have changed the crank shaft positioner and car still does not start. There is no power to start the fuel pump. Fuel pump checks out good. Fuel pump not...

Try pulling the engine coolant temp sensor, They often crack not sure why but the ceramic tip cracks makes the car hard to start, or won't start, the car's idle may race while shifting gears, and often smokes. The sensor is on the right side of the engine when looking at it on the head. Easy to change and get too

Coolant Leak in 1997 Saturn SL1

if there is no heat coming from the vents i would bleed the coolant system for air, usually trapped air in the system will cause this lack of heat.
