I have a 95pathfinder 3.0 v6 i am having trouble getting the white marks on the belt to realign after the three rotaions of the belt. it is always one tooth off on the camm gear punch marks. Help. please
I have personally done 100+ timing belts on the 3.0 & 3.3 V6's over the years and I have never done this turning over you are talking about. I guess it is possible but you would need to turn it several times to accomplish this. If you set them all up in the first place (punch mark to paint mark also the rear cover indicators to cam punches) then tighten the tensioner to specifications then just the fact that you can turn it over means that the valve aren't hitting and the timing is correct. I only turn the engine over 1 time to make sure tension is ok and thats it. I have posted a link, its the best picture I could find.

Been there, done that.
That can happen when one of the cogged pullies was shifted slightly in the course of reinstalling a belt.
Checking your book (you should have one) should show you in which position everything must be to avoid teh problem you are having.
It may be in a section dealing with an engine rebuild.
