Don't know of any method to turn the light off except for repair of the following:
I believe what has happened is: While the column was disconnected from the steering gear someone, even by accident, has turned the wheel (from center), in either direction, more than it normally would when connected. This has damaged or broken the "clocking spring". It may also have damaged the cruise connections. These are located in the steering wheel, under the air bag. The clocking spring tells the system the relative position of the wheel which determines if it is safe to fire the bag, in the event of an accident severe enough to activate the system. This is a complicated repair, and should done by a qualified mechanic.

2005 Uplander, I removed the rear seats and now I get "Service Air Bag" notice and the air bag dash light stays on.

There is a sensor in the seats that you have disconnected. The control unit cannot see the sensor any longer so it triggers notice.

1995 dodge dakota computer error code 12,back up memory power lost. how to fix?

This code only means that you have disconnected the power to the PCM.
This code will stay until 50 key turns have been completed from the last time you disconnected the battery.
Your check engine light should not be on if this is your only code.
If this helps and one give some feed back
Hope this helped FixYa.

2002 dakota air bag warning light stays on continuosly. fuses ok. diconnected battery. no joy.

The clock spring in the steering is broken this is the device that connects the power to the air bags you will need to replace it then reset the brain using a diagnostic tool.

This is a typical problem the sensor may be bad this is not a true solution though but just disconnect it all together the flashing light could be irritating thats why many people do this.

What does the red light on the bord with letters SRS means? It stays on for few seconds after I start the car (Honda accord 1995). Thank you

srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.

1995 dodge caravan

it happens every time you run the rear wipers, it blows out the fuse, and thus the red air bag light goes on. they are on the same circuit. try not to use the rear wiper. to fix it, just temporarily use a 15 or twenty amp fuse in place of the blown out one (refer to the manual for fuse box and amps), this will set the wiper to sit back in its normal position. After this has been done, go ahead and replace the fuse with the correct amps, and the air bag red light will sets off.
Note:( reason to use higher amps is to allow the wiper to sit back in its own place, otherwise, if using the same lower amps it will keep blowing it out.) ofcourse disconnect battery first. Good luck
