2004 Sport Trac stuck 4x4 low

Driving the truck this morning was no problem. However, getting in at lunch the dumbie light stated it was in 4low. The 4x4 knob on the dash shows in 2WD still though. Its driving really rough, trying hard to do the 4x4 work when it doesnt have to and I cant get it out of 4x4low for the life of me. I tried backing up about 20-30feet, no change. I tried (in neutral) to change from 4low, 4high then back 2wd, no change. HELP!!

Start the vehicle put the 4x4 switch to the position the light on the dash states it is in. then put it in nuetral, hold your foot on the brake switch the 4x4 switch back to 2wd wait a few seconds and the light on the dash should switch back to 2wd. and you should be back in 2wd

Try disconnecting the battery terminals, cleaning them, then start your truck, put it in neutral, and try switching out of 4x4 low. Seemed to work for me.

I have a 2005 jeep liberty. none of the 4wd lights on the dash light up when selecting the different 4wd modes, stopped working today. can anyone please help me with this

usa? not diesel?
why are you in 4wd? snow, ice, off road, do tell.
not sure what lamps are dead, no photo by you.
are you talking parking lamps dead in dash? called illumination
or the mode lamps. ????
where on the dash, the main cluster? where? TRY TO BE EXACT.
do you mean shift console lamps, ????? those are on the dimmer feed.
the best answer is get car serviced
or scan it, see if there are errors. to the 4wd system etc.

we cant do grinds here, we deaf and blind and....
find a shop , that can find LOCATIONS. of noise
only That works, ever.
grinding in all modes of use, parked, neutral. driving, hills, gears.
??????????
do you have any warning lamps glowing ,driving?
the lamps if the 4wd lamps are dead.
tell me you are not using 4Low mode on pavement, first.
most times fuse are first, 2007 this changes but 2005
there are 2 fuse boxes, cab and eng bay.

ON PAGE 166 in the oper guide
lamp 6 dead, 4low?
lamp 19 FULL TIME , dead or stuck on??????
or the switch bank dead?
command trac or select trac 4wd.? NV241 or NV242?
2 options day 1.

here is my guess,
you are using 4wd incorrectly
do tell what tires are sitting on.
the me it car is command or select trac opted
and all lever selections you tried.
EACH 4wd mode has rules.
rule one stay out of 4-low. unless off road

the opr guide is here if lost.
see the word secret , here.

http://jeepdied.com/books.html

command trac, 4w is not for driving on ice free pavemenet
Comman trac is part time 4wd, (the word part meas, ice or dirt)
select trac, is full time, (never in 2w low) 4H works on pavement even dry. page 240 in your op guide.
The rules on the 2 boxes are totally different.

I filled up my gas tank this morning and my gauge is stuck at empty and my read out gauge says "Low on Fuel". What's going on ?

the float is likely stuck. try hitting tank with your hand with key on and it should pop loose, If not tank will have to be dropped

I have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 and i was backing out of my drive way with the 4x4 in low and i heard a noise and the service 4x4 light came on. I have 62,000 miles. now at times the service 4x4 light goes on...

Ensure that you are in Neutral when you try to get the transfer case out of 4LOW. That is the only way to ensure that it will transfer out of LOW properly.

1991 F150 stuck in 4x4 low

chk the linkage under the truck for any foriegn objects. block the tires and have a friend put light pressure on the shifter while you lightly tap the linkage.

Stuck in 4x4 low

Have you tried backing up at least 10 feet .. If there is any driveline bind this would release it and allow the transfer case to "shift" ..
