Beeping On my 2003 Ford Escape when I put the key in the ignition I get a beeping tone 5sets of 5 tones. It is not the fasten seat belt because if I don't that goes off too. If I drive more than 30 minutes the tone repeats. My local mechanic says no code are indicated and my check engine light isn't on. Any Ideas?

When you turn key on check if airbag light on instrument cluster comes on. 5 beeps is the tone to let you know your airbag light in instrument cluster is inop..

2003 Ford Escape, I had the same issue. Beeping coming from dashboard, after starting. 5 sets of 3 beeps, 3 times, than 5 minutes later it would do it again. No codes, no lights on.
after extensive searching and research. Not finding anyway to make it stop, no one knows what it is. The dealership mechanics are useless.
Since it obviously, is not a safety factor, and no one can tell me anything definitive.
it's time to make this stop.
Chasing the sound, with mechanics stethoscope. I narrowed it down to beeping coming from behind the
gage cluster.it took about 10 minutes to carefully disassemble the gage cluster. I found the little black Cylinder, about 1/2 inch in diameter, 3/4 inch tall, attached to center of the circuit board in the gage cluster. I plugged the circuit board in to the harness where the gage cluster was. It definitely is the speaker for the beep.
I used a die grinder to carefully cut the top off the Cylinder. Needle nose pliers to remove the aluminum speaker cone, just pulled it off and discarded it. The copper wire that I'm sure was the driver part of the little speaker also came out. I removed all of it. Leaving the cylinder, an empty shell.
Put all back together, no lights,no sounds, problem solved.

It is the airbag. I have the same problem. It is a warning that they need to replace the airbag system. It costs over $1000 to fix and I am looking for other alternatives.

7 dings and a beep when starting 2000 ford explorer? what does that mean

NOTE: The generic electronic module/central timer module (GEM/CTM) is connected to the ISO link and is diagnosed through the data link connector (DLC) with a scan tool.
There are five warning chimes and lamps the GEM/CTM controls: headlamps operating without the ignition on (chime only), door ajar (chime and lamp), key-in-ignition (chime only), driver seat belt warning (chime and lamp), and message center.

Audible Warnings Warning Condition Lamp Duration Audible Duration Audible Output Safety Belt 60 Seconds 6 Seconds Chime, 60/Min. 740 Hz Key In Ignition - Continuous Chime, 120/Min. 740 Hz Headlamps On - Continuous Chime, 240/Min. 740 Hz Door Ajar Continuous 1 Second Single Tone, 1000 Hz Message Center (Tone Request) - 1 Second Single Tone, 1000 Hz
When the is turned to RUN or START from OFF or ACC, the chime will sound for six seconds or until the safety belt is buckled.
The will turn on for 60 seconds or until the driver safety belt is fastened. Both the chime and the lamp turn on at the same time.
If the safety belt is buckled before the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START, from OFF or ACC, neither the chime nor lamp will be activated.
Anytime the is changed to RUN from START while the safety belt warning indicator is activated, the safety belt warning indicator will remain activated until either the timing sequence has been executed or the safety belt is buckled.
When at least one door is ajar and the key is in the RUN position, the door ajar cluster lamp is activated and remains on until all doors are closed. A warning tone will sound once any time the key is in the ignition switch and any door is open.
The key-in-ignition warning will sound when the driver side is opened with the key in the and the in OFF or ACC. It will continue to sound until the key is removed, the is closed, or the is in RUN or START.
The headlamp-on reminder chime will be activated if the headlamps or parking lamps are on, the key is not in the ignition switch, and the driver door is opened.
A single tone will be provided each time a ground signal is received from the message center. A one-second tone will sound for warning indications from the message center. A 100 milli-second tone will sound for each message center button depressed.

2003 ford escape seat belt warnign light

Probably no need to see an expensive mechanic. My seat belt warning light came on a few days ago when there were four people in the car and the rear seat belts weren't fastened (I thought that was why it lit up). However, the light came on and stayed on when I was the only person in the car. Logically, it suggested a bad connection somewhere, so I checked the connector under the passenger seat and made sure it was properly fastened together. I then sprayed a small amount of WD40 into the female clasps of both front seat belt connectors, clipped and unclipped the belts a few times and the light is now fine. Try it - it worked for my 2003 Escape.

My 2003 for escape ...the seat belt light flashes while driving but my seat belt is fastened..i tried to undo it and put it back on but it still did it.

Check under the seat for a wiring harness being loose due to recent cleaning or getting wet with window down during a rain.

My 1997 Ford Escort goes through a beeping sequence of 5 beeps 5 times every 30 minutes. How do I remedy this?

Fasten your seat belt? If you have your seat belt on, there may be a problem with your seat belt switch.

Put your seat belt on. If there is too much weight on the passenger seat, fasten the passenger seat belt as well.

THERE IS A BEEPING NOISE THAT STARTS AFTER DRIVING IN MY 2000

Here are the warnings:

The generic electronic module (GEM) controls the following warnings and chimes:
  • Driver safety belt not fastened (warning lamp and repetitive chime).
  • Key-in-ignition (repetitive chime).
  • Headlamp-on warning (repetitive chime).
  • Door ajar (warning lamp and single tone).
The following four distinct chime rates are used to indicate warning:
  • Seat belt warning chime is one chime per second.
  • Key-in-ignition warning is two chimes per second.
  • Headlamp-on warning is four chimes per second.
  • Door ajar warning is a single chime.
please rate as solved if this is what you needed.
