I have a 2008 Saturn outlook with 2w drive. I recently drove in wet weather a my Stabil Trak and traction control indicators

When the Stabilitrak and Traction Control indicators come on and stay illuminated in your 2008 Saturn Outlook, it typically indicates a problem with the vehicle's stability control system. This system helps maintain control and stability during adverse driving conditions, such as wet or slippery roads. There are several potential causes for these warning lights, and it's essential to address the issue promptly to ensure your vehicle's safety and performance. Here are some common reasons for the warning lights to stay on:
  1. Wheel Speed Sensor Issues: The Stabilitrak and Traction Control systems rely on information from wheel speed sensors to determine if a wheel is slipping or losing traction. If one of these sensors is malfunctioning or dirty, it can trigger the warning lights.
  2. Faulty ABS Module: The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module is closely related to the stability control system. If there is a problem with the ABS module, it can affect the functionality of Stabilitrak and Traction Control.
  3. Damaged Wiring: Damage to the wiring that connects the wheel speed sensors to the control module can disrupt the communication and trigger the warning lights.
  4. Malfunctioning Control Module: The control module responsible for the stability control system can develop faults or errors over time.
  5. Brake System Issues: Problems with the vehicle's braking system, including worn brake pads, can sometimes lead to issues with the Stabilitrak system.
  6. Faulty Steering Angle Sensor: The steering angle sensor is part of the stability control system. A malfunction in this sensor can lead to warning lights.
  7. Low Fluid Levels: Low brake fluid levels can trigger the warning lights, as the stability control system may interpret it as a potential issue with the braking system.
To diagnose and address the problem, you should take your Saturn Outlook to a qualified mechanic or a dealership. They can perform a diagnostic scan using specialized equipment to pinpoint the exact issue that is causing the warning lights to stay on. Once the problem is identified, they can recommend the necessary repairs or replacements. It's important not to ignore these warning lights, as the stability control system is designed to enhance vehicle safety and performance, particularly in adverse driving conditions. Addressing the issue promptly will help ensure the continued safe operation of your vehicle.

2003 Saturn L-Series L300 V6. I have a fuel leak coming from the top of the gas tank dripping down to the fuel filter line.

You probably will need to remove it. If there is rust on top of the tank, it may be perforated. See if you can get a cellphone camera up above it to take a picture. Also check under the seat for an inspection cover. Some people just cut an inspection hole. https://www.google.com/search?q=2003+Saturn+L-Series+L300+V6.+fuel+leak+from+the+top+of+the+gas+tank ..

How do I turn off flasher with my Saturn SL1

is this the turn signal your referring to or the the headlight high beam? Try the basics first. I might suggest silly, obvious things here but even I've done stuff like this. The stalk switch should turn the turn signal off by flicking it up or down. (Left side of the steering column behind the steering wheel). If your high beam is staying on try pulling the same stalk towards you feeling for the 'click' as the lights switch back to dipped beam. If none of this works the switch itself could be faulty. The Saturn is an older car so parts will wear out.

2004 Saturn Vue V6 high RPMs in drive & while shifting?

Our Pro Technician Jeff Armer provides a great answer to solve this question
  • Jeff Armer Apr 21, 2023Manual or automatic transmission? AWD or FWD? Is the check engine light on ? Did you have the vehicle scanned for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes? That vehicle has A PCM - powertrain control module , meaning the engine an transmission control are in one module. That vehicle also has Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System , the computer controls the idle . Was the battery recently disconnected? If it was, this will cause higher idle speeds till the computer relearns correct idle set points. Rough, Unstable, or Incorrect Idle and Stalling Sensor Checks • Inspect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. A fixed or inaccurate ECT sensor reading can cause the engine idle to surge or race. Using the scan tool, compare the ECT with the ambient air temperature on a cold engine. If the engine coolant is 5°C (9°F) more than or 5°C (9°F) less than the ambient air temperature, inspect the resistance of the coolant sensor. Refer to Temperature Versus Resistance - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor . If the ECT is significantly less than the ambient air temperature, inspect the coolant sensor electrical circuit for high resistance. • Inspect the throttle actuator control (TAC) system for correct operation. https://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm/4.8L-...
  • Jeff Armer Apr 21, 2023 Idle Learn Install a scan tool. Diagnose and repair any DTCs before proceeding with this procedure. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List for the applicable DTC that set. Ensure that all electrical loads and accessories are OFF. Turn OFF the air conditioning. Ensure that the vehicle is in PARK or NEUTRAL. Turn ON the ignition. Clear the DTC information with the scan tool. Wait 5 seconds and start the engine. Operate the engine with no load at 3,000 RPM until the ECT reaches 90°C (194°F). Important: If the engine cooling fan turns ON during the idle portion of this procedure, do not include the fan run time in the total idle time. Let the engine idle with the THROTTLE CLOSED and the engine cooling fan OFF, for a total of 5 minutes. The PCM has a new learned idle position. The idle learn procedure is required when the following service procedures have been performed: • The throttle body assembly is replaced • The throttle valve is cleaned--Deposits can build up in the throttle body requiring periodic cleaning of the throttle valve and throttle bore area. Refer to Throttle Body Inspection and Cleaning . • The Clear DTCs function has been performed • The PCM has been programmed. • The PCM is replaced

Saturn ion randomly shuts off

Experiencing random stalling issues with your 2006 Saturn Ion can be frustrating. There could be several potential causes for this problem, and it would be best to have a qualified mechanic perform a thorough diagnosis. However, here are a few common issues to consider: 1. Faulty Ignition Switch: A faulty ignition switch can cause intermittent loss of power and result in the engine shutting off unexpectedly. If the switch is worn or damaged, it may disrupt the electrical connection to the engine, causing the stalling. Consider having the ignition switch inspected and potentially replaced if necessary. 2. Fuel Delivery Issues: Insufficient fuel supply or a malfunctioning fuel pump can lead to engine stalling. Check for fuel-related problems such as a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or issues with the fuel injectors. A mechanic can perform fuel pressure tests to assess the fuel delivery system. 3. Electrical System Problems: Issues with the electrical system, such as loose or corroded connections, can disrupt the power supply to critical engine components, resulting in engine stalling. Have the battery, alternator, wiring, and connections inspected for any signs of damage or poor connectivity. 4.Engine Control Module (ECM) Malfunction: The interruption of power to the computer, as indicated by the check engine light, could suggest a problem with the ECM itself. It may be necessary to have the ECM thoroughly inspected or potentially reprogrammed or replaced. 5. Sensor Malfunctions: Faulty sensors, such as the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor, can cause intermittent engine shutdown. These sensors provide crucial information to the ECM for proper engine operation. If any of these sensors fail or send incorrect signals, it can lead to stalling or engine shutdown. It's important to have a qualified mechanic perform a diagnostic scan and conduct further testing to pinpoint the exact cause of the stalling issue. They can use specialized equipment to monitor various systems, retrieve error codes, and identify any underlying problems. This will help in accurately diagnosing and resolving the issue with your Saturn Ion.

2008 Saturn Aura won't crank.. new battery, new starter, ignition relay is good.. I'm thinking maybe ignition switch???

I'm thinking maybe ignition switch??? There you go thinking ??? Thinking an not knowing how to test . You probably should have a qualified repair shop check it. Looks like you just know how to replace parts to no avail. Do you know what happens when you turn the key to start ? Circuit Description When the ignition switch is turned to the Start position, the body control module (BCM) receives battery voltage on the ignition 1 voltage circuit, and less than 5 volts on the off/run/crank voltage circuit. The BCM supplies voltage to energize the RUN/CRANK Relay 32. The BCM sends a high speed GMLAN serial data message to the engine control module (ECM) that the key is in the start position. The ECM receives the message from the BCM, and also receives a serial data message from the transmission control module (TCM) containing the shift lever position. If the shift lever is in Park or Neutral when ignition switch is turned to Start, the ECM supplies voltage to the START Relay 31. The START relay supplies voltage to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, through the 30 A STRTR Fuse 26, in order to crank the engine. This vehicle's body control module (BCM) has a bussed electrical center integrated into the housing. Body control relays and fuses are installed directly on the BCM, which simplifies wiring and junction blocks on the vehicle. The body control system consists of the BCM and its associated controls. Battery positive voltage is provided to the BCM from IBCM BATT 1 fuse and the IBCM BATT 2 fuse in the underhood fuse block. The module grounds are wired to ground G201, G203 and G305. The BCM is wired to the GMLAN High speed serial data buss, and the GMLAN Low speed serial data buss, as well as discrete input and output terminals to control the functions of the vehicle's body . Power Mode Master This vehicles body control module (BCM) functions as the power mode master (PMM). Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions. Hooking up a professional grade scan tool an checking for codes in all the modules on the vehicle ,viewing ignition switch inputs to the BCM is how a professional tech would go about finding the problem .Not guessing an just replacing parts .
