1998 Saturn: Grinding/rubbing/screaching noise somewhere up

the sound you describe sounds more like the belt lose, would check that first. auxiliary belt. if the sound goes away it will prob be that.

Car is running hot and the heater quit working. i

Sounds like a head gasket, the oily substance is actually oil. Do not drive the vehicle, at some point a $1000 repair will into $3000 repair when the engine seizes.

I have a 2001 Saturn

That fuse powers shift soledoid 2 and the TCC solenoid. One of those 2 solenoids is probably shorted. The transmission will have to be repaired.

AIr conditioner doesn't come on

There are pressure sensors in the refrigerant plumbing that can prevent the system from starting if system pressure is low. If any of these are loose or unplugged the compressor will never engage. The compressor clutch also has a connector that can be unplugged also.

1999 saturn running rich

the sensor that controls the mixture is the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in the exhaust manifold compression is low as it should be no less that 125 psi that is if the readings were taken with the throttle wide open the noise in the exhaust indicates unburnt mixture accumulating in the muffler to flash off check for a crack in the flex section of the exhaust near the manifold

Try to find the fuel pump and unplug it, Plug back in when done!

Floppy stick shifter, car stuck in gear

I am sure that there are parts that are worn out in the shifter, I see this complaint a lot for Old Saturns. It will be a miracle is you can get the parts to fix the worn out bushing and such

I have a 1998 Saturn SL2 and when I go to start

Sounds like u have a few problems happening there. Sounds like your dealing w a weak battery & head gasket problem. Get it to started first but don't run it too long (HOT), then deal w the head problem. Good luck
