(1)
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor , under the power steering fluid reservoir , three wires -Black , gray , tan / white .What problem are you having ?
Gas gage not reading
The sensor is inside the tank, it wears out. Mine is intermittent and I will likely have to pull the tank to replace it.
What would cause instrument and radio light to dim
With the lights on auto, the dash will dim when the lights go on, based on the dimmer setting. If it's set low [wheel] they will be really dim. If it's light outside it will be hard to read. there are not many other causes other than a low battery or bad alternator.
Fan wont blow at any speed
Blower fan needs to be replaced. You can sometimes get it to start by tapping the cowling under the dash [center area] with a rubber mallet [while ignition on and fan set to high. This will likely only work until it 's shut off again and the motor still needs to be replaced. This only verifies that it is in fact a bad motor and not a bad switch or resistor.
Replacement motors can be found on eBay and amazon for like $40.
Service light want go off
You need to scan the codes. Most big-box auto parts stores will scan your codes for you, if you take your car in. Once you have the trouble code and description, come back and get help on diagnosing the cause of the trouble code.
1999 Buick Regal LS. Lost Overdrive. Changed filter no help. Can be forced into OD if I get the RPM'S up over 3000. 170,000+ on it. 4T65E transmission. Is there a quick fix for this?
P1811 is for maximum shift adaptation and long shift detected.
The possible causes are long -
clogged transmission filter
cut seal on transmission filter
low or burnt fluid
1-2 accumulator faulty
2-3 accumulator faulty
3-4 accumulator faulty
valve body spacer plate damaged
pressure regulating solenoid damaged
pressure regulating valve damaged
fluid pump faulty
restriction in hydraulics of transmission
1,2 or 3 clutch damaged
forward band burned or broken
torque converter clutch broken
The first step is to check line pressures with scan tool and transmission pressure gage, then with scan tool test the pressure solenoid. If pressures are low and pressure solenoid test good, then transmission is pulled and torn down to inspect and repair as needed, which is usually a complete rebuild in this case.
