2006 Toyota Corolla Questions & Answers
What is P2716 code for a 2006 Toyota Corolla mean?
There is currently a recall going on for this problem. You can likely get your money back on the prior repairs as well. See this link
http://www.toyota.com/recall/corolla-matrix.html. On the left-hand side, you can click to take you to put in your VIN and see if your vehicle is included. My 2007 vehicle IS included, and I just had the check engine light come on and have been experiencing rough shifting for about 6 months. When the light came on yesterday, it was extremely rough jerky shifting. The light went off today. Took it to Autozone and got same code P2716. Toyota has assigned me a case number, but I won't get a call back until Monday or by close of biz on Tuesday. This problem can cause your car to not start, or to shut down while driving. YIKES! The person I talked to at Toyota acted a little too nonchalant about the whole deal. Telling me to just wait for the call that I will get. She said most dealers would not have the part needed to fix this. According to what I have read. That is the reason why Toyota is not sending out the notification letters to the affected parties until mid-September. Check out all the info and good luck. I am a little bit p.o'd about this right now. - Natalie

The open door warning light indicator does not go off .
There is a problem with the door switch the door is not pushing the switch in completely. Here is what you do close all the doors, then you open them one at a time with all the other still closed. start with the drivers door. open and look for the pin with that the door touches when you close its on the bottom close to the back of the driver's seat it has a black rubber covering it. Press with your thumb in and see if light goes out. Check all other doors in the same way you will see which door switch is not being pressed in completely when door closes. If you find it a quick fix is to pad the area on the door that makes contact with the switch to push it in, for example you can use one of those round sticky cushions that you use on the metal chair legs to prevent them from scratching your wood floor. However if you can solve the problem in this way you may have to take it to electrical mechanic or I will be able to provide more help. contact me and leave me a feedback. Good LUCK

Check all the fuses located in the lower panel of the dash board on the passenger side with a test light 12V or multimeter. Ground one end of the tester to good known ground and the tip to each side of every fuse one by one. If the tester light glows that particular fuse under test is OK. If not, that fuse is burnt. Replace it with the same rating of new fuse and you are good to go.

If you check in your owner's manual sometimes there are controls in-built to do this it depends on the spec of the vehicle if not I would get a auto electrician to sort it out you could make things worse and loose all instruments in the dashboard I hope this helps
