2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder Questions & Answers
Mr2 2004 knock sensor is lighting the engine management light
Try checking your O2 sensors if you have one that isnot working all the time you will get that reading. If you don't have a computer readout machine take it to an auto zone or another auto parts place they will run the diagnostic tool on your car and tell you what it is as it will give you a code
How do I find out whether my 2003 toyota mr2 spyder has a factory installed remote keyless entry system installed
First of all, if you don't have a "key fob" (the key "ring" that came with the car and has small buttons on it), you wouldn't be able to utilize the system. If you DO have a key fob, and have pushed all the buttons and you can't enter the car, then most likely you don't have key-less entry. To find out for sure, go to your local Toyota dealer and ask them whether or not you have it. If it is factory installed, the VIN should tell them one way or the other.
Where is the water coming from under the seats in my 2001 MR2 Spyder?
Your roof is leaking there are a couple of plugs that are under the seat that will help in draining the water. Move the seats all the way forward and put the backs tilted forward you will see a piece of plastic that looks like a drain that's one of the covers be gentle as they will break best bet is to get a repair manual for this type of repair as instructions can be done in several ways also then you are going to have to find the leaks you may not see them when driving as they are probably rolling down the back into the roof storage area but if you spray one area at a time also tape around the edges and see where they get the seal broken if its just a leak with the roof suggestion is to let pro handle it as they can restitch or possibly glue top. But it is definitely the roof you can also try the drains in the jamb you will see them as they are just rubber or plastic plugs again be gentle or you will have to buy new ones.
The water drain on the RIGHT-hand side not working
I would blow high pressure air down and up the hose.
Pour some water in the good drain and see where it comes out under the car and then look in same place on other side of car for the blocked drain.
2003 toyota mr2 exhaust valve
It could also be broken piston rings...but if your not burning or using oil, highly likely. The way to check wether it is piston rings or an exhaust valve is to put some oil(about 2 tablespons) into the effected cyclinder space by removing sparkplug and adding. **you must remove all sparkplug leads at this time to prevent it from "firing". If you then attatch a compression guage to the cyclinder, turn the engine over with the starter motor, noting the reading. If it is "broken rings" the compression will improve dramatically with engine turnover. If it stays the same the culprit is a burnt exhaust valve(s). This should ONLY be done by a competent person. Hope this helps
