I think it could be the clutch or throw out bearing had the same problem I replaced the clutch and bearing worked fine good luck

Go to an auto parts store and ask them to read the pending fault codes. I vote Mass Airflow sensor.

I have this same problem, and I removed the interior door fascia to examine the cause.
As mentioned, the moving, plastic part of the door handle has a recess that houses the return spring. Under stress (under too little stress, if you ask me), part of that plastic that surrounds the spring ruptures (tears), and the spring can no longer exert sufficient force to get the handle to retract flush against the car.
There is no way to fic that plastic part--you have to replace the entire handle. Searching for "Toyota Echo Door Handle" will find you a number of on-line sites that sell BLACK handles for under $7.00! The dealer wants something like $50-$70 for an OEM part, with the right color.
I have the service manual, and replacing these things is a *****! You have to use a TORX bit to remove the actual latch in the door, to get it out of the way.
There isn't actually any fixed linkage between the handle and the interior latch mechanism. When you pull the handle up enough, a plastic cam on the handle strikes a metal lever within the car door, forcing the latch to release the steel hoop. So once you can ACCESS the handle, swapping it out looks straightforward. The problem is, accessing it is a pain. Make sure you have a magnetic grabber handy for the hardware!
I have yet to find a cheap source for SILVER handles on the Internet (none of the Internet Junkyards have responded).

Turn the radio off.
Press 4 and while holding it press seek up. The clock will reset to 1:00.
To adjust the hour press and hold AM and then 1.
To adjust the minute press and hold AM and then 2.
Turn the radio on when finished.

• undo top and bottom strut bolts...3 in the engine bay and two at the wheel end.
• remove strut

take off the tire remove the brake drum let go the four bolts on the inside part behind backing plate should be able to tap the whole unit out without taking off the brake pads

if it doesn't have a dipstick there should be a plug located on the tranny that you can take out if the fluid flows out of it then it should be full.

yes there is a fuse inside the car drivers side fuse panel.check the one under the hood driver's side and one under the dash where the radio is

you have to remove brake pads, rotors, struts, tie rod end and lower ball joint. whole unit comes out then. the bearing has to be pressed out and new one pressed back in good luck

try passenger side under dash but to the side take off that panel just a guess

could be your coils breaking down when hot or your starter is bad good luck

the battery light indicates problem with alternator has nothing to do with overheating unless your belt is not functioning properly check that over heating is caused by thermostat clogged radiator or bad radiator cap good luck

the spring inside the handle or a rivet breaks, You can't buy these parts seperately so you will have to get a new handle for it

remove the belt from the alternator take out the bottom bolt and the adjuster bolt on top unplug your wires and it's ready to come out you might have to access the bottom bolt through a panel on the front passenger side of car

there should be separate relays for your headlights inside the fuse panel under the hood drivers side fender
