I hope I can help, I had the same problem on my 2001. I called the dealership and they said 375.00 + parts to fix. Being mechanically inclined I decidet to try it myself. Please understand, this is not exact, but is a pretty good guide. To open from the outside, make sure doors are unlocked(mine relocked after a minute or so) place a screwdriver, long and thin, into the slot that the handle passes through the door on the right side. Raise the handle of the driver, and you should be pressing down on a cable that operates the latch. the door should release. If you cant do that, from the inside, remove the two side trim pieces. Then remove the inner door panel, One screw under plastic cap on handle, one under cap on strap... and pop off all plastic buttons(hidden) between the door and cover, a 1" putty knife will work for this. You will see the cable that used to connect to the handle. Remove the cable by pulling it through the slot(apparent when you get to it) and now remove the two screws that hold the handle on. Also, you have to remove a screw from the passengers side of the cover plate over the handle. the plate will slide(not sure which way now), and it will come off. replace the handle and etc..... inreverse.. Took me 25 minutes, start to finish. Further questions, let me know. remember, mine was 2001 Sienna.

Check where it's coming from the clutch for my ac recently went south in the same way. Smoke burned rubber smell...etc

Mine and a friend's 2000 Sienna have the same issue. The only way I've found is to cover the light with a sticker. It's not a fix, but it stops the distraction while driving. Good luck, and post back if you find a better way!

Most likely the motor assembly has died or has become disconnected.

Window trim molding is tricky. They use a combination of adhesives and clips to hold it in place. Go to a parts counter for a dealer and have them look it up and it will say if it is glued or clipped.

Might be fuel pressure leakdown. Try turning the key to RUN for about 3-seconds, but not START. Then turn to OFF. Repeat 3 times and then try to start. If it starts, you have a bad check valve in the fuel pump that's allowing fuel pressure to drain down overnight. Replace fuel pump. If that doesn't work, try depressing the gas pedal halfway while cranking the engine. If that helps, check out the engine coolant temp sensor. A sensor that's out of calibration will send bad info to the computer and the computer will provide too lean a mixture for a cold engine. Depressing the pedal overrides the sensor and the computer adds gas.

you have to stick your head down by latch and look on side and use screwdriver to release it. its hard iv fought with them for 30 mins sometimes to get them unstuck. id suggest going to dealer if u cant get it.

The repair guy fixed the front end? Why? Was it in a crash? If so why not take it back and have it corrected?
