Short circuit in dome light circuit 1987 toyota celica gt
Sometimes the dome lite is turned on manually by rotating the headlamp switch knob, try turning it off with the knob. Best time to check for light left on, is in the dark.
Hopefully pulling the dome lite fuse will stop the battery drain.
My son has 1987 Toyota Celica ST with a 3S-FE
Same problem happened to my 1993 Nissan 240SX SE Hatchback. Turned out to be the flywheel for some odd reason. Try that! Also in my opinion it could be bad spark plugs or a clogged fuel filter. Usually those would be the main reasons.

Bad circuit board tail light asseblise connector pin to board poor connection or burned push in light bulb sockets
On my '93 Chevy PU the new ones went bad within months I repaired the original ones by soldering all connector pins to the board cleaned the sockets chipping out melted plastic been working for five years now.
Care must be taken to keep solder from preventing wire connector install while using enough that plugging it in will not break these delicate unions.
Required pulling them several times to Finnish repair successfully.
Very disappointed in replacement parts.
Burning too much gas and smelling gas in my oil.
If you have that severe of fuel in the crankcase, it has to be the rings. But with everything you are saying you've not said anything about how it runs? If fuel is dumping that fast it should foul out the spark plugs or not start at all.. Have you tried another mechanic? If nothing else you need one in case you want to sue your original one.. Good luck!
REPLACE DISTRIBUTOR
replace the coil with a new one ensuring that the voltage reads the same as the old one.
I have a 1987 toyota celica gt and the heater
This problem is specific to the Gen4 Celica (86-89). Intermittent or no heat heat is caused by cracked
solder joints in the Heater Control Panel. You need to remove the panel
and re-solder the solder joints. When electrical continuity is broken,
the panel defaults to the cold setting. If you go over a bump and it
touches again, you may get hot. Hence, intermittent or no heat. We have
the complete DIY fix posted at www.st162.net and it's free. Pic below shows the heater control points to re-solder.
