I have an 84 toyota pickup 22r 5 speed. recently it met a deer and bent in the front bumper, broke half the grill, and took out the passenger headlight & turn signal. since then it has ran hot

If you drained you radiator coolant, and refilled it, you may have air in your system somewhere. If you have air in your system, the temp gauge will gradually go up, up, up to where it looks like its going to overheat, but then it will come back down, sometimes below normal operating temp., and then climb back up. If this is what is happening, you need to burp your system. Get a special funnel that allows you to fill your radiator and run your engine until all the air is out.

1984 cadillac coupe deville has the security light

It seems to me that you have a bad fuel pressure regulator, but before replacing the FPR locate the fuel filter disconnect the line that goes to the engine and not the one that goes into the fuel tank put a hose on the tip of fuel filter, place a container under to drop fuel now have someone turn the ignition key ON but engine off while you are going to observe for fuel, pressure needs to be strong if it looks to weak then it might be your fuel pump I also recommend to change the fuel filter sense you are there ,also check for power on the injectors connections with a test light, after doing this and everything seems fine then go head and replace the FPR fuel pressure regulator,WARNING working with fuel is highly dangerous make sure fuel doesn't touch any cables or look around for anything that can detonated fire, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Engine diagram 22r

what about your fuel pump? when it get hot it stops and when it gets cool works. It is better as soon as you do have the engine shut off when is hot,try to check if any fuel is coming from the fuel tank to the engine if it doesn't the renew the fuel pump. Also my advise is to ask your mechanic as an expert he does have the special equipment to check the fuel pressure flow to the injection system,or if it is your vehicle fitted with carburettor to check the mechanical fuel pump whether it does send fuel at all. Good luck.

When i start my 84 toyota truck 22r i notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust...

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

Wiring diagram

test your car's electrical system with a different horn, other than the possible faulty one or test the horn itself, outside the car with a different power source, this is to isolate which is faulty , the car's electrical system or the horn itself, if horn is faulty then replace it, if not check your wirings.

1984 toyota pickup 22re fuel injection is not getting fuel to the cylinders

Most likely a fuel pump problem, locate the diagnostic check connector under the hood and turn the key on then put a jumper wire between the terminals FP and B+ if it start then the fuel pump is ok and the problem may be the EFI relay or efi fuse

Where is the ignition modulator located in a 1984 toyota truck

Ignition "modulator"??? I assume you mean "ignition module" or "Ignition control module". If this is what you mean, it is mounted on the ignition coil assembly. Toyota refers to this part as "transistorized ignitor".
