Changed battery, now alarm goes off and keeps car

well first off when you change a battery you should use a memory saver so that things will not reset or clear themselves, BUT NOW ON TO THE GOOD NEWS, TO RESET THE ALARM, IF IT IS AN AFTER MARKET OR EVEN INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY ALARM, JUST LOOK UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVERSIDE, YOU SHOULD SEE A SMALL BUTTON PLACED IN AN OUT OF THE WAY SPOT, THAT IS THE VALET SWITCH, WITH THE ALARM GOING OFF, PRESS THE BUTTON AND HOLD IT IN, THEN TURN THE KEY, THAT SHOULD RESET THE ALARM BACK SO YOU CAN START IT BEING MOST ALARMS HAVE STARTER DISABLERS, AFTER YOU START IT UP SHUT IT OFF, IF YOU SEE THE LIGHT BLINKING FOR THE ALARM, YOU WILL NEED TO PRESS THE VALET SWITCH AGAIN IT SHOULD SHUT THE LIGHT OFF, IF IT STILL WILL NOT START, THEN YOUR ONLY OPTION IS TO TRACE THE STARTER LINES TILL YOU FIND WHERE THEY SPLICED INTO IT FOR THE ALARM AND DISCONECT IT THERE, THEN INSTALL A NEW STARTER, BUT THAT IS ALWAYS THE LAST RESORT. HOPE THIS HELPS....

My 98 4runner won't start it just clicks

The most common reasons are a faulty starter, starter relay, battery, or cable.Someone would need to check to see if you have battery voltage at the starter when the key switch is in the start position.

1998 Toyota 4Runner 4by4 Lmtd, replaced rear axle 3 times either side with in the last 6yrs and now needs to be replaced again.. Toyota has done the service on it, just because they are the only ones

I bought my 99 SR5 last march and battled the axle seals 3 times before I figured it out on the forth time. The FSM has the wrong measurement for the placement of the inner retainer. Also the retainer works better if you orient the bevel outboard instead of inboard. I have a write in www.tr4.orghttp://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/114743-possible-solution-leaking-axle-seals.htmlHope this helps. It\'s hard to get right.

How to change your oil

umm if you have to ask you probably shouldn't try it yourself. But If you have everything needed to change your oil and are willing and able then here's what you do....First: you will need and oil pan, funnel, wrench that fits your oil plug, new oil filter and possibly something to help remove your old oil filter, car jack stands/jack to lift your car.Second: lift your car up enough to get under it using the jack, place oil pan under car's oil plug.Next: remove oil plug let oil drain.Next: remove oil filterNext: once drained put new filter on and reinstall the oil plug.Next: fill with the correct amount or quarts of oil for your vehicle, should say in user's manual. lower the jack and should be good to go.

I have a 1998 4wd automatic toyota 4runner and it won't start. The engine turns but won't "ignite" the engine light and A/T oil temp light appear on dashboard. any suggestions on what to check

Hi Nikki, What oil was low? Was it engine oil or gear box oil? Did the engine overheat? what exactly happened? Did you hear any strange noises when the engine stopped? Was the vehicle towed or was it on the back of a recovery vehicle? If it was towed, at what speed and over what distance? What engine is fitted? Is it petrol or diesel powered? Give as many details as possible to help us help you. Regards John

Wineing noise on excelerations

Check the power steering fluid reservoir under the hood it sounds like it is low, add some P/S fluid and see if the noise goes away, if so then it should be checked for a power steering system leak.
