2007 Toyota RAV4 Questions & Answers
How many miles should you expect 2007 Rav4 automatic transmission to last?
It should last 200 000 miles under normal driving conditions and it's serviced when it should be. That's a tough question because if you live were there is a lot of stop and go traffic or a lot of hills that shortens the life also if you over heat the motor that effects the transmission from the exceseive heat
Lower Glove Box Won't Close
I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.
Car won't start...car is only 1 1/2 years old
When you say "won't start" do you mean the starter engages and the engine won't catch or do you mean silence when you turn the key like a completely dead battery? I had a recurring problem with silence and it turned out to be a battery cable going bad intermittently. Replaced both cables and never happened again.
Windows fog on inside while driving in cold
Yes. Unless you get fresh air you will fog up your windows. Your breath or rain on your clothes or snow on your boots will all cause the humidity to increase and this moisture will deposit on the non insulated glass. Kind,of like a glass of ice tea on a warm day you will get a condensation on the glass. The temperature difference is the cause. Try to run your A/C with the temp set to hot. This will act as a dehumidifier.
also check your pollen filter make sure it's not clogged.
How do i change a 120 amp fuse
The 120 amp fuse has long prongs with circular holes in them, two small
hex bolts go side to side through the casing into the prongs. The only
way to see the bolts is to lift up the entire plastic grid that all the
other sockets go into. The grid snaps on/off the main housing which
lies underneath. There are 4 plastic tabs that need to be pushed inward
with a flathead screwdriver in order for the grid to be lifted. it is quite possible another fuse is housed next
to one of the bolts, with it's own separate small plastic housing. It
likely can be slid down and removed, so you can access the bolt
the bolts that hold the 120 amp fuse, are different sizes. The one on
the right is slightly larger and can be removed with an 8mm hex socket
with a 3" extension on the handle. The left hex bolt slightly smaller
and is attached to some small wires (to the alternator) and a smaller
7mm socket is used.
