2004 Saturn ION - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Why does my 2004 Saturn Ion AC leak water into passenger side floor?
The condensation drain line has either gotten plugged or has fallen off.
The component of an A/C system that makes the air cold is called the evaporator, logically it needs to be in the air-conditioned space. In cars it's nearly always in the dashboard on the passenger side.
Warm air holds more moisture than cold air, so as air is circulated through the evaporator to cool it, the moisture in the air condenses back to liquid, like a mini rain shower in a box. That water, usually called condensate, has to go somewhere so there is a hole in the bottom of the evaporator and a tube to carry it out of the cab, through the firewall, into the engine compartment and onto the ground.
If the tube becomes plugged, condensate will accumulate until it overflows an air vent. If it comes off or cracks, the problem is obvious. It's pretty common for a condensate drain in a car to plug, junk falls into the intake vent that won't fit down the drain.
Clearing it would be simple if getting to it wasn't so involved, check your service manual for details.
Turn signal not flashing
This is vague but ill try to answer.......Is the turn signal not flashing on the dash board then it could be the fuse so check your fuse box (There are two: One behind the panel to the right of the gas pedal...and one on top of the battery under the hood) and find the fuse for the turn signal if blown then replace... If it flashes on the dash board but not the bulbs then the bulbs could be blown so they will need replacing, however if you are not sure how to then have your mechanic do it for you as this sometimes is quite technical. Anyhow, usually the problem is the socket in the car. try fiddling with the contacts on the socket, but if that doesn't work, look up the TSB (
www.google.com), and see what the fix for early ions was. worse case scenario, replace the socket and apply the fix from the TSB. Having done this and still not working then its electrical and may need to be put on diagnostic computer to solve....Good luck...
What does it mean for a P0172 computer code?
The P0172 code is indicating a rich condition in your fuel system, the ECU, (computer) can not adjust the fuel / air mixture correctly, it could be any number of sensors causing this problem.
How do i remove the key switch on my 2004 satur ion without the key
You cannot its thats simple ,change the whole unit and do not damage the ring for the chipped key around the outside ,use a radial cutter to cut the clamp as their are bolts with no heads ,ok you may be luck with a centre punch but its quicker with a radial cutter and loads of wet rags to catch the sparks
Clutch pedal cable is broke - need view of
search for "saturn ion clutch" on ebay motors and on parts stores websites. i think you will find that it is hydraulic, not a cable, system and you have a failed slave or master cylinder. on the S series you have to buy an entire new system, pre-bled.
How to bleed clutch slave in vehicle 2004 saturn ion
Make sure reservoir is full, locate bleeder. Have someone press clutch Pedal. While clutch pedal is depressed, loosen bleeder screw and allow air to escape. Tighten bleeder(careful, they're easy to break) then repeat...Often! It helps if you have a clear tube that fits on the bleeder, run it to a small container. When you think you have removed all air from line, lower car from stands and give it a whirl. If it still seems spongy, or doesn't want to go into gear, bleed it a few more times and see how it does. Check fluid in reservoir often...they are small and don't hold a lot. They usually require regular dot3 fluid, but check lid and owners manual if not specified... it DOES matter.
P0734 p0700
both refer to the autotransmission faulty gear selection, the P0700 is for the Transmission Control Module failure, this will need further diagnosing at a repair shop, no easy fix i'm afraid
