Are headliner and sunvisor material
it is not rare in any older car. you can buy new headliner material, pull the old one out, clean it very very well, glue the new one onto the old hardboard and reinstall it. you can buy replacement sunvisors. look in the phonebook under upholstery and call around to find one that does cars.

Service engine light went on?
You need to have the error code read from the on-board computer. Mose parts stores will do this for free and tell you the reason for the error.

My saturn is idoling high the machine says its
Camshaft Position Sensor
This vehicle does not have a Camshaft Position Sensor. The manufacture does make references to "CAM" in some of the trouble code descriptions but this is NOT a reference to a Camshaft Position Sensor.
Notes On System Inputs
The EI module does not receive a signal from the crankshaft position sensor. Instead the CPK sensor signal is being received and processed by the PCM. The El module does, however, contain circuitry to determine camshaft position without using a camshaft sensor, by use of compression sense ignition (CSI).

[email protected] THEFT KEEPS DISABLEING IGNITION
Sound like a bad ignition switch; its possible that you need ti replace it. Try to visit you Service Manager and ask about this information, just that they could run the
codes and confirm to replace a faulty ignition switch.
I remember long time ago that explained me that
some of the tumblers in the switch were not falling when the switch was
engaged, therefore the car wouldn't start.
Hope helps.

I just noticed tonight that my car is making a
struts are good for 10 years or 100,000 miles at best. your car went past that long ago. i have had 4 saturns and i used half that age/mileage. you can buy a pair on ebay for less than 80 bucks, but spend another 50 and get "quick struts" which have new springs and mounts already installed as a unit, and they are much easier to change. if you bring your own parts, someone who knows what they are doing can do it for a hundred dollars labor, but you will need an alignment too.

The mechanism or needle in the actual speedo display is sticking, is the needle hitting the glass? It is likely that you will have to change the instrument cluster.

My key is stuck in
I had this problem when my 97 sc1 was first given to me. It turned out to be in the automatic trans shifter anti theft switch. I just removed center console and disarmed it. try slamming shifter into park and see if it makes a difference, don't forget to push in on the key a little before turning.

What does it mean when
It means there is an issue going on with your cooling system. Could be that its overheating. Check your fluid levels and check for leaks.

My 97 saturn cranks but
I just had this same nightmare on my bosses 97 SL1. After literally weeks of headaches, I finally found the problem. The fuel filters, (there are 3, 2 in tank, and 1 in line with the firewall on the drivers side) were completely plugged. Replaced the fuel pump as well, since it was under specs. After all this it had what you are describing, come to find out that the fuel pump relay (interior fuse box) was cooked as well, probably from the fuel pump straining to pump through the plugged filters. After further checking, come to find that 12v was intermittenly reaching the fuel pump.
After some trouble shooting I come to find that the interior fuse box has many fuses with no power at all (mainly the accessory circuit, lighter, dome light, etc). I ran a fresh wire with an inline fuse from the battery to the cigarette lighter 12v + (Orange wire) to power the circuit and the car fired right up. Saturns are known for their crappy wiring. So if your dome light and cigarette lighter are not working it's possible that you have the same issue. I fully inspected the fuse box (completely disassembled) and could not find any short or open circuits, but those cheap "fuse adapters" that go from the harness pins to the fuses inside the fuse box were all corroded). I cleaned all up and still no power. I could not find a single burnt wire either anywhere in the interior or exterior harness. My boss had taken this car to several shops and not one shop was able to fix it (after spending $350 on parts with "guesses").
I hope this helps and does not confuse, it was a tough troubleshoot, and maybe my experience can save you a lot of money and time.

Where is the pvc valve?
The pcv valve (stands for positive crankcase ventilation) is located on the valve cover. There will be a hose connected to it (a bit thinner than a finger).

i would check with your local salvage yards to see if they have one in stock, it would be cheaper, than buying new.

Car will not crank over. no noise from starter.
Its starter motor fault. The starter assembly has to be replaced. In some cases the starter solenoid gets jammed and does not let starter motor to turn over.If its worn out solenoid then also starter unit has to be replaced.
