Starter wont turn
Check the battery charge. Do you hear a click if the battery is good? Maybe Starter solenoid is bad. If the battery is good, and no click. the wire to the Starter solenoid is a bad connection, or wire broken, or trace that wire back to a relay, and from relay to ignition switch terminal may also be bad. A jumper around certain wiring may help isolate the problem.
Where is thermostat located in 2001 saturn sl
follow the lower radiator hose to the engine. There is a silver housing that connects the hose to the engine block. The thermostat is in this housing. You can buy the whole assembly, with the housing, the thermostat, and the gasket at your local auto parts store.
Sat. 01 sl wait 1/2 hour to start when warm. stalls when ideling 1/2 hr restart
You have a bad air intake manifold gasket. If it runs idling high, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the air intake manifold by the firewall. Spray it right where the air intake bolts on. There are 8 10mm bolts or nuts there. When you spray it while idling, the revs will come down. This makes sure that is the problem before you go any farther. My 02 did the same thing. If you need to know how to change it, let me know, I can walk you through it. It's a one to two hour job, b ut easy
Changed thermostat temperature sensor and fan modulator. Still overheating no heat
If it's the2.2 , it's easy, as long as you buy a water pump holder. The water pump is internally driven bdesperate chain .
The holder ,and the 4 bolts that cover the pump are used to hold the chain out of the way so you can change it.I If you aren't comfortable with the possibility of dropping the water pump chain down into the front if the engine, pay a pro. It's easy, but the possibility of turning a 100.00 job into a 800.00 is there.
Windshield wiper would not return to origi position
I had the same problem in my LW200. As the other poster indicated a new wiper motor will do the trick. This is an easy fix. Remove the wiper arms, pry up the plastic center cap and remove the nuts holding the arms down then pull them off. A soft prying nudge from underneath will help as they are splined shafts. Raise the hood, put a large deep well socket on over the splined shafts and remove the 2 large nuts holding the trim panel on. Pull up and off the long rubber which runs along the front of the trim panel, watch there is a sharp edge underneath. Now you can gently pull off the trim panel, remembering to lift it over the splined shafts. Mechanism is right there, remove 3 screws and unplug wiring. Take wiper motor off the linkage swap with a new one at advance auto, about 100 bucks, reinstall in reverse order. Note there is a stamping on the linkage telling you where the pivot arm should be for the rest or stopped position and if you ignore that your wipers will be out of whack. While you are in there you may want to change the cabin air filter as well.
Car wont start just keeps turning it started for about 3 seconds then sputtered and shut off now wont start
Gas or spark, one is probably lost. Have your fuel pressure checked, to see if the pump is still working good. If you have fuel pressure, check for spark on a plug wire. If you have a strong, blue, snapping spark at the plug wire ends (check more than just one, ideally all of them), then the ignition is probably good.
Also, always check for any trouble codes from the engine computer (the PCM), when you are having engine problems.

My 2001 Saturn wont turn over, no click or anything. I do have good battery power.
Security system failure is a common problem on GM vehicles. Every time you put your key in the ignition, the vehicle's security system reads the signal from your key to make sure it is OK to run. When it receives the "correct key" signal, the security system allows the starter to turn over, and/or the fuel injectors to function and your car works like it normally does every day. If you were to use a different key, or try to hot wire it, the system would shut down these parts of your car, thus making the vehicle completely immobile. This is GM's way of preventing vehicle theft. The problem is that the system is known to fail quite commonly. It has been failing consistently for around 30 years. When it fails, two things can happen. First, you turn the key and nothing happens at all. Lights work, radio works, windows work... just not the starter that you need to start the vehicle. This is a "starter immobilizer". Second, you turn the key and the vehicles starts just fine, but then stalls in 2-5 seconds. This is a "fuel immobilizer". It literally cuts off the fuel injectors and stalls the vehicle to immobilize it. These are normally, but not always followed by a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. These lights are to inform you of the system's failure to collect the information it needs from your key to the computer. If your security/antitheft light is on, odds are you will be stranded soon, if not already. Remember that the security system controls the security light. If the system is failing, the light may never warn you of the failure. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Remove heater hose from heater core on 2001 Saturn l200
Many times a heater hose is so tight that even after you have removed the hose clamp you can't get it lose. If you can't get a pair of pliers to lightly twist the hose you may have to make a longitudinal cut on the hose with a knife or exacto knife to loosen it and then replace the hose after you get if off.
