Why 96 impala backfire when i try to start it
The most likely cause of that problem would be the ignition distributor assembly. Inspect it and replace with new parts if you see any wear or carbon deposits. They are usually pretty inexpensive. Check the engine timing. If that all sounds difficult you could try just loosening the distributor and making minor adjustments in the direction that seems to help.

replace the lock cylinder, or try to put some graphite in the key hole see if it will loosen up. does it look it has been tampered with? if so would recomend replacing they arnt to bad price wise
Cannot turn key to unlock the door
What happens is ether the key or the tumblers in the lock get warn and don't move as far to release the lock barrel. Try some lock lub like powdered graphite and angling the key in different directions so as to move the tumblers in more.
My 85 saab turbo keeps over heating
Make sure the radiator fans are working properly and all hoses look good and there not using the same thermostat. Those cars are not to cheap. But if your having the same problem with every motor you put in it then the fans cant be working.Or two your radiator is plugged right tight.Theres really no other thing that it could be unless the same part is getting put on all of the motor.Look over all parts that were transferred from motor to motor then you should be able to find the problem...

1985 Saab
sounds like a short try removing the plug to the lock and see if it blows the fuse it may be a short within the locking motor
1985 saab wont start the key will not even turn
If the key won't turn it sounds like a problem with the reverse gear locking device. You'll need to remove the gearlever/ignition housing and replace or reset the 3 gears inside. If the ignition barrel is faulty you'll still need to remove the assembly to get it out.
Serpentine belt diagram
The serpentine belt routing should be labeled on your radiator shroud. Look around the engine compartment like the hood or radiator fram suport and there should be a label with the the belt routing.
Good luck and hope this helps
