Hello,
do you know or have an electrical diagram for the air conditioning system in a 2004 kia sedona? If not, do you know a website etc, I could possibly go to to find that? you can reply via email at [email protected]. Thank you for any help you can provide to me.
Sandy
I also have a 2004 Kia sedona with approx. 80,000 miles on it. The air conditing system stopped blowing cool air into the car. The fan would work, but would not blow cool air. After doing a lot of research. After trying to find a car repair manual or diagrams for the Kia Sedona with no luck. We ended up taking it to our machanic. He then replaced the compressor and it is working fine now. I now know that this is common for the compressor to go out on this van.

how to replace starter motor on 04 kia sedona
Disconnect the positive battery terminal. You'll need to remove the 3 bolts holding on the heat sheild to the starter, also remove the lower heat sheild on the exhaust manifold. You'll need diconnect to 2 wires attached to the starter and unbolt the 2 bolts holding the starter to the transmission/engine.

A/C is blowing hot air. Freon is full, compressor is not turning on.
2006 Kia Sorento EX. I had this same problem. It started after I had the ac compressor replaced. At first it was intermittent, it would blow cold and then blow hot, blow cold then blow hot again until it just started blowing hot. Turned out it was the AC relay switch in the fuse box under the hood, I swap it out with the horn relay switch (they were the same type relay switch) the ac has been working fine ever since and the horn also works even with the bad relay switch. Go figure?

NOTE
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder block, cylinder head and timing chain cover. Before removing the timing chain, mark the right and left timing chains with an identification mark based on the location of the sprocket because the identification mark on the chain for TDC can be erased.
To install:
NOTE
Before assembling the timing chain cover, the liquid sealant TB1217H should be applied on the gap between the cylinder head and block. The part must be assembled with five minutes after the sealant is applied.

Does the rear AC have an expansion valve as well? Do the rear AC have an expansion valve , can you tell me where it is located. We have replace the compressor (AC), the drier, and the AC condenser, the next thing is to replace the expansion valve. The high pressure was way to 130-275 and the high side hose was very hot while the mechanic was charging the system and the low side was high at 130 and would not drop between 30-45 PSI. The Mechanic said that he have never seen this type of reading before in his 20 year history as an service man.
Kia Sedona expansion FRONT valve located under dash, behind glove box, fan and coil. Evacuate freon first. Disconnect Freon lines from firewall., Lay right front seat back to flat horizontal position and lay on top or totally remove the seat for easier working access. Remove under dash cover, fan, glove box, coil housing, remove coil mounting bolts, remove old expansion valve. (Inspect old valve, if debris inside, blow out coil before installing new valve. If visible debris best to consider replacing REAR expansion valve and DRIER/FILTER in front of radiator too and blow out all lines and coils while servicing.) Use compressor oil to lubricate "O" rings on new FRONT or REAR expansion valve, install valve bolts, reinstall coil bolts to FRONT firewall or REAR frame, reconnect freon lines to firewall in engine compartment. Evacuate AC system, install freon (35 1/2 ounces, nominal 3 pounds), check system for leaks, check for proper operation, enjoy.

I had to jump start my wife's sedona and the next day had to do it again, I removed the cables while it was running to eliminate the alternator as the issue. Went to Advance, they put a meter on the car and said it was the battery, which is only 1 year old, so they warrantied it for me. Van started fine for about a week or so and now I am having to jump start it again. No lights are left on, no cigarette lighter to deal with..... anyone got anything I may not have checked?
The battery may be draining due to a software issue. The dealer can reprogram the system for a known defect which allows some systems to remain powered when the vehicle is off. 20 minute warranty fix at the dealer.
