Rough running hyndai sonata

First things first: have someone use a scan tool to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's). If the engine is misfiring, regardless of why(spark plug/fuel injector/ bad camshaft lobe, etc.), a misfire code will be set. These particular codes will begin with PO300. An example is code P0301, indicating cyl# 1, P0302, cyl#2, etc. Then the diagnostician will need to examine the data for short term and long term fuel trim, oxygen sensor readings, etc. to pinpoint the area needing attention. The problem could be as simple as a bad spark plug, a bad ignition coil or some other "external" problem. An engine compression test, a simple diagnostic procedure, will tell you if you have an internal problem, like a bad cam, or valves, or something else which can affect engine compression. I am not familiar with Hyundai having camshaft failure problems. I don't know how many miles you have on your Hyundai, if your under 100,000, I doubt you have internal trouble. You need to make friends with a good auto technician!

Engine will not idle down

Hi have a nice day!
Your model is equipped with Vehicle Speed Sensor System.
I think it would be better to take it to an authorized service station to check it's operation.

2001 sonata blows only hot air

First make sure the AC system is fully charged, with a gage hooked to the low pressure side the pressure reading should be 28-32 PSI. Also take note if the AC compressor is turning off and off continuously in short bursts, the indicates a low charge and if the charge is low you have a refrigerant leak somewhere. If that is all ok and system is not low on charge you may have a defective air temperature control blend door problem, either the door is sticking due to being warped or the actuator motor is defective or both, most times both are a problem. the part is only accessed by removing the entire dash assembly.

My car was having trouble starting, slow to turn,

check the earth lead connections to the engine from the car body, undo them, clean them up, and re assemble, then check the electric connectors to the starter motor the same way, check also plug connector is securely pushed into back of alternator. Another thing to note, you mentioned the lights slowly dimmed after fitting new battery, this could indicate a major short circuit. good luck, P
