Antitheft or Security system failure is a common problem on GM vehicles. Every time you put your key in the ignition, the vehicle's security system reads the signal from your key to make sure it is OK to run. When it recieves the "correct key" signal, the security system allows the starter to turn over, and/or the fuel injectors to function and your car works like it normally does every day. If you were to use a different key, or try to hotwire it, the system would shut down these parts of your car, thus making the vehicle completely immobile. This is GM's way of preventing vehicle theft. The problem is that the system is known to fail quite commonly. It has been failing consistantly for around 30 years. When it fails, two things can happen. First, you turn the key and nothing happens at all. Lights work, radio works, windows work... just not the starter that you need to start the vehicle. This is a "starter immobilizor". Second, you turn the key and the vehicles starts just fine, but then stalls in 2-5 seconds. This is a "fuel immobilizor". It literally cuts off the fuel injectors and stalls the vehicle to immobilize it. These are normally, but not always followed by a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. These lights are to inform you of the system's failure to collect the information it needs from your key to the computer. If your security/antitheft light is on, odds are you will be stranded soon, if not already. Remember that the security system controls the security light. Short answer is, you can't. The anti-theft system and immobilizer is controlled by the Engine Control Module and/or Body Control Module. You can't reprogram a computer to do what you want to achieve. You have to fix what is wrong, not find a way around it. The system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do.

Have you tried the passlock relearn procedure? I looked at your vehicle 2.2L engine. The passlock sensor usually surrounds the key tumbler. a common problem with that sensor, wires get loose. I don't know how to bypass security system? just my opinion. good luck

Unplug the fuel injector wires from the injectors and do an ohm test on the 2 pins the wires clip on. I've forgotten what the reading should be, but if the injectors are bad the reading will be a bit different from the other bank. Normally when a cylinder is misfiring the injectors are not firing to shoot the fuel in. I do hope this helps, but be ready to change those injectors.

The primary fuel pump is located in the left side of the tank. If you fill the tank up and it still does not start then it is the primary tank. Problem is that now you will have to drop the tank with a full tank of gas. The primary pump is used to pump the fuel to the fuel rail, while the secondary pump is used to pump fuel from the right side of the tank to the left side. I usually replace both primary and secondary so I don't have to pull the tank again if the secondary is also bad.

Are you sure you have a fuel pump problem? What are your symptoms?

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.

Service engine light on , Code's are stored in the PCM - engine computer . Most part stores will check for free . Video's on youtube showing how to test cruise control . You don't need this manual the guy suggest's .

Are the injectors firing (smell gas?) Timing belt issue?!

No , anti-theft system will not allow that . The only logical solution would be call a lock smith . He can cut you a new key and program it

Check the fuel pump relay for proper operation.

Check B10 at BCM to B5 at IPC for an open on class 2 bus !

This power comes from the main driver's door switch. The wiring in the driver's door hinge area is known to break where it flexes, and the switch can fail from rain getting in it or just wear.

It was warning you that you left the keys in the car. "X" amount of time with the keys not in the ignition, but within detection range, without pressure on the seat (indicating your sitting there), will make it warn you that you're about to lock the keys in the car. (It's a _good_ thing).
