I BOUGHT MY CAR USED AND DID NOT RECIEVE A SERVICE MANUAL. HOW DO I SET IT UP TO USE WITH MY CELL PHONE?
OK - If you are getting the SIG instead of Phone connected in the X Type - You need to enter the code - for the 2007 X Type, the Code is ##3#*# - Which should then say waiting and finally SIG ****** which means it is connectable - To pair your phone, goto bluetooth and pair device, wait until the Jaguar is found. When prompted for the numerical code it is 1313

i get a lot of black smoke from the exhaust and a large cloud comes out when i change up and put my foot down
This is almost certainly a split hose - mine was the large hose coming out of the bottom of the EGR valve.
Speaking to a parts guy at my local Jaguar dealer, he said that the new part is uprated as Jaguar are aware that this is a problem.
The split allows more air in and results in the ECU changing the mixture and over fuelling - Black smoke is an indication of un-burnt Diesel. As well as the black smoke you may also notice a whistle/whine or sucking noise when you accelerate and a lack of power / lumpiness at around 2000rpm.
Hope that helps!

engine cuts out and shudders at 3000 rpm won't accelerateobd code p0332 2002 jaguar x type 3.0 l
P0332 - Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)
This sensor signals the engine-control computer when detonation is
detected, momentarily retarding ignition timing until detonation ceases.
Most computer-controlled systems use knock sensors to ****** timing when the engine is experiencing pinging or knocking.
Obviously, a faulty knock sensor produces problems that appear to be
ignition-system-related. If the knock sensor system does not provide an
engine detonation signal to the PCM (powertrain control module), the
engine detonates, especially on acceleration.

i have a p0171 and a p0174 code...someone told me it is usually upper to lower intake gaskets? chuck
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
P0174 System too Lean (Bank 2)
If a car has a check engine light on and has P0171 and P0174 codes stored, the most likely cause is a vacuum leak. These codes are set by the car’s computer when it sees too much oxygen in the exhaust. Excessive oxygen readings in the exhaust will set lean codes. This does not mean that the oxygen sensors are defective. It is a common mistake for people to replace oxygen sensors when lean codes are present. Just because the code is related to oxygen sensor readings, it doesn’t mean that the oxygen sensors are bad. If both of these codes are stored this means that both banks of the engine have excessive oxygen in the exhaust. If the oxygen sensors are replaced it’s most likely that the same codes will reappear. It is very uncommon for two oxygen sensors to fail at the same time.
Therefore the most likely cause of P0171 and P0174 codes is a vacuum leak. The source of a vacuum leak can be one of many things. The most common cause of a vacuum leak is a leaky hose. Vacuum hoses over time can become dry and brittle. The rubber deteriorates and can leak causing a vacuum loss. Many times a leaky vacuum hose can be found by listening for a hissing sound. A large vacuum leak can even make the car run rough at idle. In some cases it will not idle without feathering the gas pedal.
