PCV hose. I had the same problem...Hear air escaping from mine..I just put some hose tape over mine, and when I got the cruise not available and check engine again, sure enough..tape was coming off...replace the hose..problem solved.

You may have lost some support on the silencer (muffler) Some are like a rubber doughnut which might possibly account for the burning rubber smell if its coming into contact with the hot exhaust. The banging noise is possibly the loose silencer flexing as you pull away.and coming into contact with the bodywork Need to get the car on a ramp for confirmation
