We have a 1995 Geo Prizm and recently the low beam headlights on both sides stopped working suddenly while the high beams work. Would it be just a bulb problem?
High and low beams use different bulbs. Both of my low beams blow out at the same time. Replace the low beam bulbs.

Driver' s side exterior handle. How do you remove interior door panel without breaking anything? Can you replace just the handle or does the entire mechanism need to be replaced? Easy fix or do I need a professional?
This is a problem that you should be able to fix. With the interior door panel there are 3 screws. 2 in the arm rest and 1 on the door handle(opener), take those out. There is a C-clip on the window crank that needs to be removed. They make a cheap little tool to remove those but I've heard people using a shop rag and removing the c clip. To remove it, turn crank to around 9 oclock then slide the tool or rag behind the crank also coming from 9 oclock. Any position will work, my point being the tool must slide in from behind the crank handle. Use a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the edges of the door panel away. There are some little clips that pop loose. It's okay if some break you can buy more. After that you will slide the door handle (opener) forward a little to pop out. Twist and turn the panel to get it over the door handle. There are 2 bolts that hold the handle on from the inside. They are 10 mm. You can reach the most forward one pretty easy but the back one is taken out through a hole in the metal door panel. Mine had a sticker over the hole with a big yellow dot on it. After that it takes some pretty good force to get the handle out of the hole. Don't be afraid to push on it. When it pops out take some wire cutters and cut the little plastic clip that holds the metal rod to the handle. The lock twists out of the hole. Now this is when you need 3 hands. Hold the new handle close to the opening and twist the lock into position. Don't attach the metal rod yet. Now actually put your key in the lock. This helps you hold the lock in the correct position while inserting the handle. Put the top of the handle in first and then the bottom should snap in next. Now from the inside, reach up and slide metal rod in the hole and rotate the plastic clip to secure it. Now the hardest thing is getting that back bolt in. It helps again to leave the key in the lock and rotate it so the bolt can secure the locking mechanism to the handle. Put the front bolt in reinstall the interior door panel and you should be in business. Good Luck

my crankshaft pulley wobbles and makes a weird noise on my 93 prizm lsi
Hi there;
Somethimes this happens over time. It is usualy caused by an oil leak at or above the pully causing the rubber in the "hamonic balancer" which is part of that pully system to fail. If you don't have it repaired you will find the pully will wear through the cover behind it. So be sure to get it repaired.
Hope this helps, Good luck.
Farrout.

I have a 1995 Geo Prizm 4 door 1.8 and it has been cranking but not turning over, we wait 10 mins and it would turn over correctly then 3 days ago it would crank but not turn over. We learned that the fuel pump was not working and after replacing with a new pump the new pump did not work aswell so my options I'm presuming are fuel pump relay? correct? I can not seem to find where it is at all to even test. Keep in mind I'm a 26 year old female with no knowledge other than the ability to change oil, tires, and basic needs. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it is under your rear seat cushion. Remove the rear seat cushion, you'll see the gas tank cover.

Please I need help. I have a,1995 geo prizm. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pu relay switch, temp sensor. Took it to a shop and hooked up to machine for check engine light and found out about the sensor. The other code was 14 no ignition reference signal. Guy a shop doeant know what that means. My car takes a long to crank when its cold. Does anybody know what it means? I hears I need to reset igmitor switch but cant find it
I will enclose a wiring diagram to help you in checking the wiring.
Code 14 is ignition signal circuit , No ignition signal. Here are a few things to check.1} check for 5 volts signal from the ecm.2}verifies 0.10- 2.0 volt signal from (ecm) engine control module)3}check for power to distributor.4}check for open in black/orange wire between junction block no.1 and distributor or for a faulty junction block no.15}check for opens in power wire to Igniter. or a faulty ignition coil or Igniter6}check for open in red/black or black/orange wires to ignition switch and a faulty ignition switch
This problem may be a bad wire or bad ignition switch. the igniter may be bad but not to often do i see an igniter go bad. Most of the time its due to a bad ignition switch due to internal problem or bad wire connection at ignition switch. also check the wiring to distributor and to igniter.
The wiring diagram will help. hope this is helpful. good day.

My geo metro is flashing trouble code 12. But seems to be running fine. I've disconnected the battery but it still flashes when connect the battery again. Any ideas what the problem could be?
Code 12 means the ECM is functioning correctly. No trouble codes stored.
Is there an actual problem with the car ?
Is the check engine light staying on ?

changed distributor cap,checked fuses.
like 10 ways to check spark, 1 being right.(DIY)
using a real spark plug, new as a test spark plug. x4
or #2 way with a pro spark gap tool that shows the energy level
how did you do it.?
no spark at all 4 spark plugs?
some have 4 COPS. does yours, and are all 4 dead?
question 2, when did it last run, right, yesterday or 5 years ago
and were things messed with , like a new timing belt.
and that brings up, does the cams turn.? if not you skipped the 60k tune up with belt.
this car is a 1.8L 7A-FE toy engine. you can fix it the same why.
and get great help with gen7 toy forums...
when posting state country, Canada cars (geo) are different
and state what engine, 1.6 or 1.8.. i think its 1.8 if USA
in USA the EPA mandated the 1.8 in 1995. but? country ?ou never said.
the 1.8 1995 has what is called an integrated ignition assembly
it has 7/8 low voltage pins (trigger signals from ECU)
it's very unique.
96 changes are radical here in usa for OBD2 (EPA rules)
see the spark tests here. (i hate AZ but not their docs)
their logic has 1 failing , does it fail for 1 cylinder or all 4
this is the #1 logic path after checking cam spins.

Cops means DIS, Coil over plugs. and is Distributor less ignition.
the below toy idea is an odd compromise from old to new tech.
dizzy> then below oddity, then >cops. (history flow)
now MY way. (no cops, and only on this motor this year, uSA)
spark test:
1: does the twin cam spin? yes/no, if no, stop and fix that.
2: is spark timing (light) good on #1 or degrees.
yes, good, if dead skip to next
no, then the timing belt slipped, owner dont do 60k mile tunes. !!!
2: is spark dead, on 1,? only? yes, bad spark wire, or you using
a bad test spark plug, never do that, use a fresh test spark plug
and keep it in the tool box. (life time )
2a: dead one , the integrated, spark assy. is bad. 7/8 wire unit.
3:a; dead on all cylinders. (are you following me?)
bad inegrated module.
or bad inputs to it. there are 7 inputs (and ground)
no power to it. no 12v.
the inputs 7 wires are timing. if those are bad, then bingo'
then read the AZ page.

HC (PPM) MAX 64 Ave 28 MEAS 81 failed what is the issue
i can be, only 2 things, or both.
1: engine running way too rich.
2: dead cat.
(both happens, too)
replace the cat, might be cheaper that full engine diagnosis and repair.
in a real shop we test the cat. using up and down stream tests.
with the 5 gas analyser.
but the truth is a new CAT can hide a very filthy running motor.

where is the starter on a 1995 geo prizm located
on the engine near the transmission.

I have a 1995 Geo Prizm 1.6. Yesterday while running some errands the car chugged and acted like it was running out of gas then it died and would not start again. Today I changed the PCV Valve and got it to start. It idles just fine but when I try to give it gas it bogs down and eventually dies. After this happens, when I try to start it, it takes a while but will start and idle just fine. If I feather the gas I can tach it out, but if I try to lets say take off normally, it will bog down and idle rough before shutting down alltogether. I've heard the TPS could be at fault, or the fuel filter, or the fuel pump. I just need some more input, any would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.
