dead engine,
do head lamps work?
on a dead car, dead engine, all power comes from the main car battery. and all power feeds are fused.
if fuses blow, no power to that feed.
if the battery is dead so will be the head lamps and hand lamps
do not take a key top work (a safety feature)
this car is toyota corolla. (with geo stickers)
how do you know power is missing from F10?
you used a voltmeter there? or test lamp? how>?
there were 2 engines, 4A and 7AFE engines.
ill guess and answer for 4AFE engine
Fuse 10 is not a number its the current rating of the fuse.
and is maked (you didnt show a photo of fuse, nor where it is)
is marked IGN
now ill answer with the schematic. (makes it 10x more easy)
now power feeds IGN fuse, from the key switch
if that switch works the power come to it from
AM2 fuse
If AM2 is dead then the battery is dead. or
the battery ground is bad.
or the battery lugs are rusty
or the battery is only discharged, so charge it.
or jumper cable start car like you see the AAA tow truck man do.
Try to refer to the owners manual. If not, go to the fuse box and see if anything is wired wrong. If you don't know, go to the car dealership and they will test the car and give you a report.
lots of reasons, huge.do want a list of the 50 reasonsor 10 tests using up to 10 tools you dont have.or what is the real question.99% of most people get the car serviced.are you the 1% ?one top reason is not getting a full tuneup.but that is a wild guess, based on pure statistics.which engine?if cant know even that get car servicedif savvy you'd have posted a photo of your engineyou did not, and makes help, impossible or worse invites wild guessing crowd.
older post, 1 month.what goes go out mean. ?twice in 21 long years, ?all distribs need service every 60k milesnothing new here, the operators guide told you that.cap , rotor ,hv wires, and spark plugs.all are basic service items. no one lasts for ever.and not the core distributor. it can last life of the engine, easy.some shops, like to do that, whole thingbecause it's more profit.as you know shops charge like 2 times retail for parts.or in stealerships, the $15 (1.49cent) spark plug(same brand and p/n too)find an honest ASE shop.and win.
what? gasket and seals , where"? the VC, all ignored VC gaskets leakwHy? not doing service is why, for sure.how? those gasket run at near 200f, and bake hard ,dry and brittle on all cars (natural entropy)(added) buy a FELPRO gasket and win.i think the only source of oiltop, center rear is the VCthe valve cover gasket. on the intake side (rear)no photos shown. of leaks.this is a toytoa 4aFE engine.all leaks are due to bad gaskets or seals.we find leaks 2 ways (both with eye balls)1: get it nice and clean drive short distance, stop see where leak comes from..2; the UV die kit and lamp trick. (sold in all auto stores)the first is where, cant do what, why nor how UNTIL WHERE is solved.why not go to any shop , ask them to find the leak.let them do it and now you have WHERE and can take the logical path from there.here>?
guess? test/? or get it serviced, ill guess you want to do tests>'? (after you posted here so...)im wrong, you just want us to 2nd guess your mechanic .that is not trained in A/C. this amp module can cut A/C for many reasonstell your mech that.
You'll need someone to check the electrical circuits to make sure the compressor is working and then check the blend door to make sure the heater is not on.
If the compressor stops running it could be the compressor clutch or a relay.
new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.
The black an orange one is battery voltage for the coil , the brown wire goes to pin 5 at the ignition control module an is coil control . the last is grounded in the dist. through a noise suppression condenser !
over night
while driving.
first off it can be just bad. the battery .
over night, is called phantom drain.
doing so driving is a dead charging system.
easy huh? with answers we go to step 2.
Most like it is unsafe to drive. The mounting points of the suspension require an upper and lower pivoting joint. There are some differences in front wheel and rear wheel designs and whether you have struts or shocks to cushion road impacts. Some strut assemblies have bearing "rings" which pivot when the steering in turned from side to side. Bearings can work their way loose and leave voids which collapse. In either design, the weight of the car is pushing on these parts. Even wheel bearings can cause a shift in how the tire sets. But by this time you are approaching a dangerous condition where a spindle can snap or brakes can bind as the rotors shift from the collapsed bearings. You need some special tools to disassemble and reassemble the parts.Plese rate my info.
which engine.? 3 kinds used.? but most are right block starters
but on all cars, see battery, see Plus post. see that biggest wire.
(cable) it goes directly to the starter, on the bell housing of all cars.
the car is a Toy Corolla , was made side by side same day.
and all facts same on toyota nation dot com. asked like 1000 times.
7AFE engine is common for this year.
did you know that at any time, you can look online at any toy dealer
and see all corolla parts? (same at gm(geo) ?
youtube has it too, many times as does google hits aplenty.

FSM: (it assumes you can find the starter) factory serv. manual.
step one , remove neg lug of battery so as not to acid bath.
2: find starter, (hint its hear ring gear of flywheel and bell housing.
3: remove cables, at it( solenoid)
4: unbolt it. bingo.
5: reverse above.
on front wheel drive cars, the engines is side ways
on this engine, the natural front of engine is to right (left standing at hood)
that means the fly wheel is at your standing right. or center of mass.
the exhaust manifold point to the front of car, you standing there
but the starter in on on that side of any 4a./7a engine
its on the other side, hidden below the huge intake manifold
under car you can look up and see it. use flash light.
buy the FSM?
use alldata.com to fix cars, avoid ,getting lost or bad advice?
learn that not all engines are the same?
is this clear?
You really need a good wiring diagram. Those cars are basically a toyota corolla on the inside with a good amount of mods to the electrical system. Grab a manual from an auto parts store or go to a local tech school that has an auto repair program and make copies. This will save you loads of time troubleshooting the problem.
