heater blows cold air
Hi!
If the Temp. Selector Control is set to Heat and blows cold air, your Blend Door Actuator may be stuck or it is inoperative. The actuator is not fixable, if it fails, it must be replaced. Follow the instructions to remove and replace it.

how to set the clock on 2003 mercury grand marquis
Push the RDS button on the Radio. The radio display will show "Set hour", then you use "Up and Down" Arrow key on the Radio face to scroll through the numbers. When you get to correct one, hit RDS again. It will lock in the Hour and advance to "Set Minutes" Then use Arrow key again and hit RDS to jump out of routine.

2004 grand marquis headlights won't come on automatically or manually. sometimes they come on - sometimes not. putting them on high beams does not help. however - I can HOLD the high beam switch forward and the high-beams are on as long as I hold it.
sometimes they do come on. just no rhyme or reason - cannot think of what triggers them to come on. also, my key is burning hot sometimes when i take it out of ignition. are the two problems connected?
thanks in advance,
Eloise
Just had my 2004 Grand Marquis HL fixed. They would go off after less then 5 mins and then come back on in less than 5 mins. Then repeat. ONLY The high beam Hold switch would work. It was the LCM (Light Control Module) found behind the Glove Box. $700 for the Dealer to fix.
15 Min job for anyone who can figure out
how to remove the Module.

My 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis has developed bad reception in the radio. The stations come in real strong for a period of time (5 to 10 minutes) and then I get a similar period of no reception for any station. I have checked the rear window antenea and connections and find no obvious issues. Is there something in the radio that is going bad? Can it be repaired?
check the back of the radio, make sure than the antenna, connector is plug into the radio, if it is, then replace the radio.

i recently had cylinder 5 misfire,so i changed coils n it fixed it,then cylinder 6 started misfiring,so i replaced coil also,now it reads p0316...what do i do
The first problem you have is assuming that the ignition coil is the only thing that can cause a misfire.
Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0316 is a "continuous memory only" code that indicates that there is a fault causing a misfire during the first 1000 revolutions of the crankshaft immediately after engine start-up. This should be accompanied by the regular cylinder misfire monitors (Codes P0301 through P0310) unless the misfire does not continue long enough for the regular misfire monitors to determine which cylinder is misfiring.
In order to determine what is actually causing the problem, you must have access to a scan tool that can perform Key On Engine Off (KOEO) fault testing and Key On Engine Running (KOER) fault testing as well as interfacing with the onboard engine computer to read live data and perform system tests.
Please note that generic OBD code readers DO NOT have the capabilities to do what you need to diagnose this problem. You will most likely get additional DTCs that can help lead you to find the source of the problem when KOEO and KOER tests are run. Generic OBD code readers can access only continuous memory DTCs.
Possibilities/conditions/systems that can cause this code are:
>Camshaft Position Sensor
>Low fuel: less than 1/8 tank
>Stuck open EGR Valve
>Blocked EGR passages
>Ignition system
>Fuel Injectors
>Fuel injector control circuits
>Running out of fuel
>EVAP canister purge valve
>Fuel Pressure
>Evaporative emissions system
>Base engine (mechanical) problems

What is the red flashing light on top of the the driver's side dash?
Don't worry. That is the light that tells you the vehicle's security system is armed - nothing more. Many Ford/Mercury vehicles have it, as does my 2004 Mercury Marauder.
You can verify this information at www.mercuryvehicles.com. Just click on the link for 'owners' then 'owners guide'.
Hope this helps!

Like to change light bulb, can't get headlight assembly forward more than a few inches past the grille and side marker assembly. What else is there to be removed? Thanks
The Crown Vic and this Marquis are the same procedure, so please watch the video at this link

I have a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis and the brake and gas pedal will only adjust about a 1/2 of an inch ethier way. and it shouls move 2.5 inches.
The vehicle has a optional adjustable brake to increase driver comfort. The brake pedal position is changed in phase with the accelerator pedal. The system is adjusted by pressing the dash-mounted switch that powers the driver motor mounted on the accelerator pedal assembly. The two-way motor operates backward (away from the driver) or forward (toward the driver) to adjust the accelerator pedal directly and the brake pedal through the drive cable attached to the brake pedal assembly.
