How do I know my fuel pump has gone bad in my 1995 lexus gs300

there will be no sound , no fuel pressure and it will not start however a bad fuel pump may be the result of other failed units including the relay , pressure regulator, wiring , EVAP system so run the fault codes first to eliminate all other possible causes for the pump not working

My car won't start

what about having the fault codes read ( should have been the first step) the money that you have spent may have been wasted if the timing belt is broken, the immobilizer is operational, cam.crank position sensor problems , no fuel pressure from faulty fuel pressure regulator

Startd ands stalls

Emissions, somewhere, lots of possible causes. Usually a bad fuel to air/mixture causing the sputtering from the fuel not properly burning. Look for any error codes first and fix those first. A MAP is easy to change and cheap so often people replace that first if needed and move on to other emissions parts.

No dash lights, power seats or windows. alternator not charging. Engine runs

  1. It might be that when you changer the battery post you might not have connected all of the leads on the positive post. You might also check for blown circit breakers caused while changing the terminals.Try using a dc tester and search the main breakers for power. If you have the manual it shows the breakers and links in the bulb replacement section. JOHN-LA.

ANTITHEFT RADIO

With no antenna or bad antenna you would get a hiss instead of music when using the radio, but when playing CDs you would hear music. If the amp or wiring or all of the speakers have a problem, it could stop all sound.

No tail or dash lights- won't shift into reverse or drive

Putting the battery in backwards can cause all kinds of electrical problems. There is a fuse block under the hood and you should check those fuses. Also there are fused links (wires) that are designed to fail and they are hard to detect. This could be a very expensive repair.

I have gas in my oil

Hi Fredrick, If petrol has mixed with the engine oil it is a symptom which usually points to one or more of the injectors leaking. The fuel is pumped continuously into the combustion chamber and is leaking passed the piston rings into the sump. Do not try to start the engine! Have the injectors replaced and then drain the engine oil and replace the oil filter. It may be a good idea to start up and let the engine idle for about fifteen minutes and then replace the engine oil and filter again. Then off you go and happy motoring. Regards John
