What is causing my 2004 Jeep grand cherokee loredo to overheat while at idle.

Only overheating at idle while standing still is most probably a cooling fan problem. If you have the electrical cooling fan, then first check its fuse. If ok, than there are two separate relays (high speed and low speed) in the power distribution center under the hood. (this is for 2004 model only). Swap both relays, it can be that the low speed relay is bad. If this helped, than you will have to replace the bad relay. If this didnĀ“t help, then put 12V directly on the fan motor (watch hands and loose clothing) to be sure the motor is not bad.

Car vibration and fuel like smell

I would guess that one or more of the spark plugs, or spark plug (high tension leads) have failed. That would cause the engine to run uneven , off balance, and create fuel vapours due to unburned fuel. Worse case scenario it could be leak on fuel injectors or fuel line, if possible have some turn engine over with hood open, if you can see or smell fresh fuel, get professional assistance as this is a extreme fire hazard.

My 2004 High Performance Jeep Grand Cherokee

Is it really the engine which starts running, or is it the hydraulic cooling fan which makes a lot of noise due to the high coolant temperature? Since the temperature drops down rapidly when you start driving, the problem seems to be with a restricted airflow from the cooling fan. Was the radiator changed lately? Take care in not overheating this engine, because the heads can warp (coolant leak) and/or it can start dropping a valve seat.

Sputter after start when slowly pressing accelerator

When the check engine light is on, there's a trouble code stored in the computer. Asking us to guess which of the more than 1,000 possible codes is a fool's game. Get the trouble codes read. And test the engine coolant temp sensor to see if it's reporting an accurate temp at cold startup. You may have several problems going on here

I have a Jeep Grand

#1 the a/c system may have a freon leak or just might need recharging. #2, if the electricals, all work, but the car's engine won't turn over, I'd look for dirty battery terminals, and/or have the battery, checked, if those check out ok, then, I'd check the starter out.
