1997 cadillac seville's ac seems

The aircon controller is about to die - it has a bad connection inside it that is cutting power to the controlling vents. To find what exactly is the problem the controller must be tested by a pro - it's a long and fiddly job that will be quite expensive : in the worst case - the controller must be replaced - you could end up with a bill of over$500.

1996 seville rear air ride too high

The ride level system uses an air compressor and either an air type of shocks or a type of air billow to raise and lower the vehicle, there is an adjustment to set the ride height and it is located under the vehicle and there is a control lever or rod that should be connected between the rear axle and a switch that is mounted on the body of the vehicle, and there will be an adjustment slot in the control lever between the switch and the body, and that is how you would adjust the ride level height, but be sure that the vehicle can not drop any further down if someone is under the vehicle trying to adjust the ride height.

However, you might find that the control lever to the ride level has fallen off from the switch on the body or it has come loose from the rear axle, and it is just hanging there not operating the switch on the body that controls the the ride level compressor.

Overheating, but not showing on gauge and no flow to top hose in front of motor

Thermostat is stuck closed it is usually located under the flange that your top radiator hose attaches too. but since you didn't include engine information I can't say that with 100% certainty. Usually you just follow the top hose from the radiator. It is attached to a flange that is attached to the motor with two bolts. Remove the hose, remove the two bolts and the flange comes off. The thermostat justs rests in a little depression there remove it and replace it very cheap part. Make sure you use the gasket that comes with the new one. Difficulty rating: easy. Also cheap to have done. There are a couple of Caddy engines though where it is under the alternator and compressor, and the alternator bolt also holds the tensioner for the serpentine belt. Difficulty level goes way up on that one!

Air ride out of control on 97 STS

A leak seems the most likely suspect, but a visual inspection doesn't detect one. Pull the relay and then check the control circuit (LED test
light)... if the LED does not light-up, replace the SAI relay.
The other possible reasons for air pump not running are Blown air pump fuse,Blown/shorted Air pump motor, The air pump filter clogged or loose. The secondary air solenoid leaking vacuum causing air pump valve to open at incorrect time (possibly from water intrusion); replace solenoid. Check out.Thanks.

there is a plastic black cover on the front of the engine compartment that has a couple of creases in it where you can lift the cover to reveal the headlight bulbs from behind the lenses. Change the light bulb by rotating the black plastic ring counter clockwise to release the bulb from its socket. Also, pull the electrical connector off the bulb.

1997 SEVILLE NORTHSTAR ENGINE. THE A/C BLOW MOTOR

The motor is a difficult part to remove. I suggest a certified mechanic to replace this part for you. The blower control module is built into this motor and I have seen some cars come in by people who had tried to replace their own as you want to, although the motor was removed and the new one was destroyed by improper technique of installation
The money spent to replace one time is enough to spend and receive a guarantee as well

Seville With 4.6L Engine
On some models, the generator is water-cooled. When this is the case, the repair procedure is as follows:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
  3. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  4. Remove the radiator.
NOTE If your vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, refer to the information regarding the implications of servicing your A/C system yourself. Only an MVAC-trained, EPA-certified, automotive technician should service the A/C system or its components.
  1. Remove the A/C condenser.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle securely.
  3. Disconnect the coolant inlet and outlet hoses from the generator.
  4. Detach the electrical connections from the generator. The regulator, the battery output, and the heated windshield (if equipped) will need to be unplugged.
  5. Remove the generator fasteners from the generator.
  6. Remove the generator from the vehicle.
To install:

Fig. This shows the coolant outlet hose being removed, signified by the "1" in the diagram
  1. Attach the generator to the engine and tighten the fasteners to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  2. Attach the electrical connections for the regulator, battery output, and the heated windshield.
  3. Tighten the battery output cable to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  4. Reconnect the coolant inlet and outlet hoses to the generator.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

Engine overheating , replaced heating element

Hi over heating could be down to a few problems, the first thing i would do is get the thermostat replaced as this is going to be the most likely cause of the problem.

But the problem could be much worse so you should take the thermostat out and have a good look at it then get a tub and fill it with boiling water then place the thermostat into the hot water and leave for about 30sec to a minute then take it out using pliers so you dont burn your fingers then have a look at the middle part and see if it has opened up to allow water to pass through it now if it dont open up then this is going to be the cause of your problem.

How ever if it does open up then it points to something more serious being the cause of the problem, so the next thing to look at would be the water pump and the head gasket, so if the thermostat is good i would then get the coolant tested for engine gasses this is often called a sniff test it involve placing a tool into the coolant filler bottle and it then test the gasses to see if your getting any gasses from the engine mixing in with the coolant if their are then it would point towards head gasket failure but if their is no problem then it would point towards the water pump failing so replacing this would be your next option.

How ever bare in mind that if the head gasket is proven to be the fault then this could have been caused by the over heating due to the water pump failing so if you have to get the head gasket replaced make sure that the water pump is looked at as it is a lot easier to replace whilst the cylinder head is removed.

So test the thermostat first if its not opening up then replace and try your car remember to fill the coolant slowly to prevent air locks and open any bleed screws that may be in one of the top hoses running around the engine not doing this would cause an air lock and it would over heat again so take car when filling the coolant up just trickle the water in to ensure you have no air lock.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

1997 cadillac sls overheating

Allow it to cool down and refill system while running with heater on hot. Hopefully this will get the air out of the system. However, if this condition persists, have the radiator checked for hydrocarbons. These engines are sensitive to overheat and you may have blown a head gasket. (hope not)
Good luck!
