Being that there are misfire codes, (300 series P codes), and it's flooding I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it and try to check the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator for leakage. If the vehicle has sat for a while, 1 or more of the injectors may have stuck open. If the fuel pressure is way to high it can cause the pressure regulator to leak. See if that helps.
My caddy will not start cold unless I shoot
This is typical of the engine timing being off. Have that checked with a timing light. I wonder if your distributor clamp is loose.Another possibility is low fuel pressure, and that can be checked with a gauge by any mechanic.
Causes overheating
If you have done all that, it leaves the water pump and the fan.....how long does it take for it to overheat? Does it overheat sitting at idle in the driveway?

Normally you would check the hose going to the release valve to see if you have constant vac. The valve usually goes bad.
High idle
Adjust your idle via the throttle cable stop tab screw. It will be fine.
Theft system
the codes need to be cleared. Stop in at an Orielly, oe Advanced Auto and have them scan the codes(This is free) kind of "Tell them " you need this done so you know what parts to get to repair it leading them to believe you will be purchasing. They will scan the vehicle's electronic sensors and explain the results, As soon as he is recognizing codes/problems, tell them to "Go ahead and clear those" meaning codes. Done. Find out what they say but just kindly thank them and buy a soda for them and drive away. The light should remain off for at least a day or two but the worst that will happen is IF YOU ARE in a devastating head on collision, your airbag will possibly not deploy leaving your kids and family financially stable for a few years and you in a nice place called heaven if you beleive in Jesus as your savior....
