Check that wiring, especially spark plug wires were not knocked loose. Make sure they are all seated fully.

one bad spark plug will give you a miss. 8 bad spark plugs could cause your symptoms, but I would be checking fuel pressure, and throttle position sensor signals. If all your sparkplugs were bad it would run lousy all the time, not just when you hit the gas. Also, if you are going to change the plugs, change the plug wires as well.

Are you getting spark to the spark plugs? Pull plug wire number 1 and hold the plug wire to the side of the motor, preferably to a bolt mounted in the motor.Crank the car and look for spark. Make sure you use pliers that have a rubber cover on both handles. DO NOT USE YOU HANDS. Let me know if you have spark.

This happens when there is a break in communication between the chip in the key, the ignition, and the TDM (theft deterrent module). When these parts are not communicating properly, the antitheft system locks out the starter. Without the correct signal being sent completely through the system, the car considers it to be an illigitamate key and shuts down the starter to prevent HOTWIRING and eventually theft of your vehicle. Its a good system when it works properly. The problem can be as simple as a worn out key or as serious as a bad TDM which can run up to $1000. There are ways around this system for a cheaper cost, this link will help you troubleshoot the problem and educate you on the system. There are also some links to help you fix this yourself. This is a very common GM problem, so you are not alone in this.

You might check for leaks starting from the tank to the injectors. If you do have a leak then your more likely to find it while its running. Injectors need pressure to run. With pressure, gas will come from the leak if u have one. If you dont have a leak then your car could be burning a little rich causing a gas smell. An o2 sensor could also be the problem.
1998 Cadillac Seville battery drains
Hi, I would replace the battery. It has what you call internal discharge. That means it will no longer hold a charge. Also have the alternator checked that is charging properly. That should do it. Good luck.
How to remove a headlight
Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove headlamp switch module from instrument panel by firmly pulling outward on headlamp switch knob.
Disconnect electrical connector from switch.
Reverse procedure to install.
I have a 93 cadillac
It sounds like you have a bad idle speed actuator/motor. However, it COULD be a number of things. There should be fault codes stored in your Powertrain Control Module (PCM) if the idle speed cannot be controlled correctly.
The
ONLY way to retrieve codes on your vehicle is built into the vehicle itself.
- Turn ignition "ON."
- Depress the "OFF" and "WARMER" buttons on the Climate Control Center (CCC) simultaneously and hold until the segment check appears on the Instrument Panel Control (IPC) .
- After the segment check, any trouble code stored in computer memory will be displayed.
There is actually a
LOT more to it than this, (like, what do you do once you have the code) but the information you need is copyrighted material and it cannot be posted here. You can get access to this and a lot more information for your vehicle by subscribing to

I am the type that likes to jump start a car to troubleshoot it. If you jump start the car and it starts that tells you that the starter and engine is good and the problem is in your battery or alternator. If it doesn't start then I take the serpentine belt off and try to turn the engine with a large wrench. If it rotates, then I replace the starter and starter solenoid.
