Warning light "R DIFF TEMP" what is this
This is a warning light in the diff that is telling you that the diff oil temp is outside operating parameters . It can be from low oil level in the diff , failing bearings , or simply an under inflated tyre ( flat) that is making the side gears work when they shouldn't be thereby generating extra heat for the oil
Subaru Tribeca B9 Misfiring
Misfire can create a lot of heat. Especially in the catalytic converter. usually a crank sensor results in no start but it affects the ignition timing. What are the exact codes?
Loud valve train
That or very worn cam bearings. Or both.
Usually if the oil pump is failing you will loose oil pressure as the engine warms up. Noise at first is excessive wear in the engine parts.
The noise goes away as soon as oil reaches the worn parts.
Car dies while driving
Power steering only works when engine is running as it driven by a pump similar to your water pump. You say AC works, the fan motor may work, but w/o engine it will not cool air as it runs a compressor and probably has free-wheel clutch pulley.
How many miles are on your vehicle? Do you know if spark plugs have been changed? How about either ignition coil?
Change spark plugs
The regular changing of spark plugs has gone by the way side because the voltage is so high that the current (amps) involved dose not affect the centre electrode as it did in the older engines. If you use the expensive platinum plugs they will outlast the engine you put them in. The CPU through fault codes will indicate if the plugs need replacing
