1999 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 why engine controller messages not received ?
All the computers in the car talk on a CAN Bus. One of the computers might be interfering with the others.
+OR+
It happened to me, I had a bad ground. I grounded the computer directly to the battery and magically everything worked. I then had to go through the wiring to figure out which ground. In my case the one under the center console was loose.
There is a connector under the dash that is more like a plug (it might look like a unused diagnostic port), if you pull the cap off, you will separate all the computers. With an oscilliscope or really good volt meter you can probe which of those pins is putting out noise. The connector is the CAN bus connector.
If you have a good diagnostic tool, one that can talk to the other computers, not just pull codes from the engine computer, you can, with a wiring diagram, add one at a time until you find the culprit.
How to clear check engine light
You need a scan tool to clear codes.
But doing this is a pointless exercise as the CE warning light will come back next time you drive the vehicle unless you deal with the problems that are generating the fault codes and CE in the first place.
If you have replaced parts (because some one told you XYZ fault code = replace ABC part) you thought were causing the problems and you are still getting the CE and fault codes then your diagnosis of the problem was completely wrong.
Sunroof opens with one touch of the button; Why won't it close?
its jamming, is my wild guess (useless always)
closing needs 3 things.
1: not jamming, (friction can be a function of direction)
2: not weak motor. (or some have a clutch so kids heads dont get crushed, (and the clutch can fail, like all can)
3: full power to motor (voltmeter time) got 12v closing?
if its jamming we learn that by operating it by hand.

WJ jeep.
fails in reverse too?
rubs?
is the car parked against a building , LOL !
i think you meant slips..... right?
dont move. in any gear, right?>
42RE or 45RFE transmission>? (tag oh side tells you)
ok check all fuses yet?
check levels, by the book, dont guess? method..
the shift lever moves a cable that cable moves the manual valve on the side of the box. and must go to Drive to leave P/N
does it? it must move to the right spot there.
does it? yes.
then do a line pressure test, on the box. (FSM book cover that)
or get car fixed.
read chapter 21 here 42RE ,under line tests.?

page C21-page 81 covers, wont move.
see that yet?
step 1 and 2 i did above for you.
How to install new radiator
Hi Doug:
If you're at all adventurous, this should be fun.
- Safety first, Disconnect battery
- Drain radiator (Capture the anti-freeze to save the neighborhood pets)
- Disconnect hoses and remove. sometimes you need to slip a little screwdriver under the end of the hose to loosen it.
- Remove bolts that hold radiator in place.
- Lift out
Revers process to install new one.
Occasionally there may be something in the way that has to be removed to accomplish the swap. That's called fun.
Enjoy.
Take your time

Don't forget to replace the fluid.
Cheerfuls!
1999 jeep grand cherokee stals when put in gear
that is very low engine power!
caused by many things.
never doing TUNEUP tops list. (get one, in last 10 years?) no?
bad spark plugs or clogged filters.
sounds like low fuel pressure, ever consider a new filter there?
that is a wild and mostly useless guess there.
so.....
no engine stated, and is an engine question.
what engine?
Stalling and showing code p0320and P01391
old postbut the 320 is crank sensor errors (mounted to bell)the 1391 means , crank or cam sensor errors.so in this case. the 320 wins, it tells you which of the 2 sensor failed.the car has no distributor. Coil rail pack, now.as many get wrong guessing.the 4l has no overhead cam, sorry ! and a very robust chain with no slack..Guessing and failing: 101: (all facts)Cam sensor right side of block.do not time the CMP wrong, or remove the whole thing and get the timing wrong on the cam sensor.now you have 2 problems , the bad ckp and now CMP is bad.(monkeyfracked)same for the CKPif has to be gap set CORRECTLY:that is FACT:it needs a spacer added, to the end of the ckpand when you start the engine it clears off and the mAGIC gap happens, try not to wreck the sensor here. as many do, and some get both bad now.DIY love to get the CMP timed wrong and then wreck the CKP, PLEASE STOP AND READ.I'LL now quote factory DATA: (it's not BS it REAL)"The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is mountedto the transmission bellhousing at the left/rear sideof the engine block (Fig. 21). The sensor is adjustableand is attached with one bolt. A wire shield/router is attached to the sensor (Fig. 21).New replacement sensors will be equipped with apaper spacer glued to bottom of sensor. If installing(returning) a used sensor to vehicle, a new paperspacer must be installed to bottom of sensor. Thisspacer will be ground off the first time engine isstarted. If spacer is not used, sensor will be brokenthe first time engine is started.(1) New Sensors: Be sure paper spacer is installedto bottom of sensor. If not, obtain spacerPN05252229.(2) Used Sensors: Clean bottom of sensor andinstall spacer PN05252229.(3) Install sensor into transmission bellhousinghole.(4) Position sensor wire shield to sensor (Fig. 21)."end facts.
