how do i reset my pcm on my jeep grand cherokee?
try disconnecting the NEGATIVE cable on the battery for 10-20 minutes. re-connect it. start the vehicle and drive it for a few miles to let the pcm reset. (make sure the key is off and out, just to make sure you don't fry something when you remove the negative-black wire cable!!). don't short it against the positive-red!
make sure the negative connector (on the cable) is isolated from the frame, or it will still be grounded! wrap some plastic around it, or something!
good luck!

how do you replace a fuel pump on 1994 jeep grand cherokee
Disconnect the battery, Jack the rear up on stable jack stands. use a smaller jack with a piece of wood to stable the load under the tank. You will see 2 band straps under the tank, remove the bolts, only 1 side have bolts, the other side swings down. The hose from the gas cap will have to be disconnected, which can be !!!!! when in-stalling. you can then drop the gas tank down easily with the jack just a bit, enough to reach around to unplug the fuel pump plug, and the gas lines. Once it's removed, the pump has a big screw on ring, take it off and the fuel pump can be pulled out.

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee with AW4 automatic 4 wheel drive transmission. I drove my son to school the other morning, turned it off, then tried to start it back up about 10 minutes later and nothing. All the dash lights come on as they should, key buzzer sounds, etc., but it won't crank. Starter is getting power, had it table tested and it works fine. Someone suggested check the continuity on the neutral safety switch plug, which I did, and the 1-2 gear wasn't showing continuity. I assumed this was the problem, took the switch apart and cleaned it, checked it by turning it manually and it now showed continuity in all positions. Put it back on, and still nothing. Checked continuity again and again no continuity in 1-2 gear. I checked the shifter, and it appears that it isn't going back far enough to turn the neutral safety switch into the correct position. Does anyone know if this could be my problem and that maybe there's a transmission linkage problem, or is there something else that can cause this, such as a starter relay, module, ignition module or something?
I had the same problem with my 94 jeep and i ended up finding out what was causing the problem was the starter relay in the fuse box under hood, i believe its the second or third relay. Try turning the key to the start position and leave it there and poop open ur hood and manuelly start the relay

jeep will not start tried jump starting but alarm lights keep flashing
The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.

power seat will not go back, seat will move forward but not back. seat is in the the extreme forward position and need to move the seat back to make the vehicle drivable until I can afford a new switch
I'm having this same issue, I"m the only one who drives the jeep and its just an extra vehicle, really don't want to put that much money into it if I can just manually move the seat to the furthest back setting.

how to disable security system
Hi Andrew:
The 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Laredo Anti-Theft System is equipped with Vehicle Theft
Security System (VTSS). VTSS system monitors vehicle doors, hood,
liftgate and ignition. If an attempt is made to enter or operate vehicle
without proper disarming of system, vehicle horn will sound,
headlights, taillights and parking
lights will flash, and engine will be prevented from running. I have an '93 GC 5.2L V8...
The following wiring diagram and electronics
circuit contains detail schematics of The 1994 Jeep
Grand Cherokee Laredo Anti-Theft System. Herein you will find
interconnection between electronics parts of the system such as body
control module, auto headlamp light sensor. VTSS led, driver door
module, passenger door module, cylinder lock switch, junction block,
power distribution center, and grounding. Herein you will learn also how
the Vehicle Theft Security System works, removal, installation, testing
and troubleshooting procedures.
Try HERE and also, remember that here can find the Jeep Grand Cherokee Service Repair Manual.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your
feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if
you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
