1996 Mercury Mystique Window

Here are the instructions:
    • Gently remove the door panel of your Contour, ensuring that you don't break the three door clips that hold it on. As you pull the panel from the door, support the panel from below. This will ensure that none of the wiring inside the door is damaged. Release the wiring from the components inside the door, including the power window mechanism, power lock mechanism (if equipped) and the stereo speaker. Place the door panel in a safe area with the clips so they are accessible when you are ready to replace them.
    • 2Remove the window glass by sliding it up and out of the door. Support the glass from the bottom so it doesn't drop and break. Window glass for a Contour can cost around $150 to replace. After you remove the glass, put it in a safe place. You may want to wrap it in old towels or blankets to protect it until you are ready to reinstall it.

    • Unplug the wires from your Contour's window motor, and remove the screws from the window motor and regulator. Remove the power window motor and regulator from your Contour to make way for the new parts.
    • 4Install the new window regulator into the door, and replace the screws that held them in place.
    • 5Replace the window glass into the door, and connect it to your Contour's power window motor and regulator assembly.
    • 6Replace the door panel. Reconnect the wiring for the power window and power lock controls, and replace each clip that connects the panel to the door.

1996 Mystique- suddenly the power window on the

it really sounds like you will need a new window regulator. for your vehicle there are a couple options, your local salvage yard or on line auto parts warehouse (I use autopartswarehouse.com) you can search and order this and any additional parts you will need for your car. you will need to remove the door panel, normally a few screws and pry off the panel with some type of flat blade screw driver or pry bar. remove the plastic lining very carefully (if it is still on the door), the window will need to be taken out of the door, normally secured to the base by two screws or bolts or retaining clips. the window tracks normally have an upper and lower bolt securing them to the door, remove these, lastly the window regulator has three or four bolts, remove those and remove the old regulator and replace and re assemble as you have taken apart, look for about three to four hours, Good luck!

Check engine on

o2 sensor is usually located on the manifold of most 4 cylinder engines they are normally a one wire connection. you will need the following:

New oxygen sensor....these can be really expensive.
a open end wrench that fits the O2 sensor, or an O2 sensor socket and a ratchet to loosen and tighten the O2 sensor

Start by driving the car to get the car warm o2 sensors can be very hard to get out if they are cold.

if you think you might burn yourself on something hot put thick gloves on, you will have to disconnect the on wire on the o2 sensor, unfortunately you cant wear gloves while doing this, so be extremely careful as the exhaust will be very hot.

After wire disconnected loosen o2 sensor by going counter clock wise using either a o2 sensor socket or a appropriate wrench

while wearing gloves, after the sensor is loose enough unscrew by hand, remember it is still very hot.

you can let engine cool down now if you want.

put new o2 sensor in tightening it firmly and replug the electrical connector back up.

if your check engine light does not go out take to autozone and have them reset your computer, or you can disconnect your battery cables for 20+ minutes and this resets the computer also.

Where is the radio fuse?

Below the dash, left of the steering column is the fuse box. It pulls open. There should be a diagram of the fuse locations. If there's not an attached fuse puller, take a pair of needle-nose pliers to pull the fuse.
